Abstract:
A communication apparatus for performing automatic reception processing of a calling signal received on a telephone line, by power supplied from a first power supply, includes an image processing unit, a detection unit, a counting unit, and a power supply control unit. The image processing unit performs image processing on image data received over the telephone line, by power supplied from a second power supply. The detection unit detects a calling signal received on the telephone line, by power supplied from the first power supply, while power supplied from the second power supply is stopped. The counting unit counts the number of calling signals detected by the detection unit. The power supply control unit starts supply of power from the second power supply on the basis that the number of detected calling signals counted by the counting unit reaches a predetermined number.
Abstract:
A computing device can utilize one or more sensors to capture data associated with a current environment, state, condition, property, etc. of the device. Based at least in part on the captured data, the current environment, state, condition, property, etc. of the computing device can be determined or identified. Based on the determined/identified current environment, state, condition, property, etc., the computing device can configure the notification intensity level for the device. The device can determine a suitable notification intensity level and set that notification intensity level for the device. An incoming communication received at the computing device while the device is still associated with the determined/identified current environment, state, condition, property, etc. can cause a notification to be outputted at the set notification intensity level.
Abstract:
A wireless communications device includes a memory adapted to maintain profiles relating to user contacts, an output device operable to emit audible notifications responsive to incoming communications, at least one input device operable to receive a user selection of a silent notification mode of the device and a user selection of a silent mode disabled setting associated with the profiles and a processor coupled to the memory, the output device and the at least one input device. When the device is in the silent notification mode, the processor is configured to prevent the output device from emitting audible notifications responsive to incoming communications from the user contacts having profiles without the silent mode disabled and to cause the output device to emit audible notifications responsive to incoming communications from the user contacts having profiles with the silent mode disabled.

Abstract:
A communication terminal includes a transceiver and a controller. The transceiver receives electronic messages from another communication terminal. The controller responds to receipt of each of the messages by examining content of the message according to at least one defined rule and to control sound characteristics of an alert tune that is played through a speaker responsive to the examined message content. The controller may attempt to match text from the message to a stored list of words and/or phrases, and to control the sound characteristics of the alert tune in response to an outcome of the matching.
Abstract:
A mobile communication device and an incoming call noticing control method thereof are provided. The incoming call noticing control method is used for controlling a mobile communication device. The mobile communication device includes a main body and a ring unit. The main body has a body surface. The ring unit is used for emitting a ringtone. The incoming call noticing control method includes the follow steps. The vibration frequency and the vibration amplitude of the main body are detected. Whether the body surface is substantially facing a predetermined orientation is detected. The volume of the ringtone is controlled according to whether the body surface is facing the predetermined orientation and according to the vibration frequency and the vibration amplitude.
Abstract:
Provided is an event notification device capable of notifying an event with excellent immediacy without giving a shock or a sense of discomfort to a user. The event notification device 10 of the present invention includes: a notification event detection unit 11 that detects an event to be notified to a user and outputs notification data a; a stimulus control unit 12 that outputs stimulus presentation data b for providing control for presenting a stimulus to the user until the stimulus control unit receives the notification data a, and outputs stimulus removal data c for providing control for removing the presented stimulus after the stimulus control unit receives the notification data a; a stimulus presentation unit 13 that presents the stimulus upon receipt of the stimulus presentation data b and removes the presented stimulus upon receipt of the stimulus removal data c; and a transmission unit 14 that transmits presentation and removal of the stimulus to the user.
Abstract:
A DC voltage converting device is on the output side connected to a DC voltage source and, on the output side, supplies a converted DC voltage to at least one electrical consumer via a cable connection. To improve such a DC voltage converting device in that also with high DC voltages on the input side, a conversion into another DC voltage is possible without any special constructional efforts and high costs while complicated cooling means or the like, are avoided at the same time, the DC voltage converting device comprises a plurality of DC voltage converting units of which each is serially connected to the DC voltage source on the input side and connected in parallel with the cable connection on the output side for supplying the converted DC voltage.
Abstract:
A communication terminal apparatus includes a body for constituting a first state and a second state; a ringtone output unit configured to output a ringtone if an incoming call is received and notifying the incoming call; a detection unit configured to detect that the body changes from the first state to the second state if the ringtone is output by the ringtone output unit at the time the body is placed in the first state; and a ringtone silencing unit configured to silence the ringtone if the change is detected by the detection unit.
Abstract:
Crescendo telephone ringers and methods of providing a crescendo telephone ring signal. The crescendo telephone ringer provides a gradual increase in audible ringing volume as a sequence of incoming electrical ring signals is detected. According to one embodiment, upon receipt of an incoming call, a first audible ring signal corresponding to a first detected electrical ring signal is set to a minimum volume. Subsequent audible ring signals corresponding to subsequent detected electrical ring signals are set to increasing volume levels, and finally to a maximum ringer volume.
