Abstract: User action data characterizing action by a player in a game environment executing at a user client is received at a server. The game environment is created by the user client separate from the server. Data characterizing a selected viewing position is received. The selected viewing position is different than a player viewing position. The selected viewing position characterizes a viewing location within the game environment. A recreated game environment is generated from the user action data at the server. A video stream of the recreated game environment is generated. The video stream includes video from a perspective of the selected viewing position. The video stream is transmitted to a viewing client. Related apparatus, systems, articles, and techniques are also described.

Abstract: Embodiments include a system and method that facilitate detecting a request from a player to share a trigger clip of a video game, preparing the trigger clip for sharing and sharing the trigger clip in a message to a third party or to a social media destination. Additional embodiments include storing one or more trigger clips in a library where the trigger clips are available for searching and review by players and others. Advantages include making the trigger clips available for subsequent review, training, coaching and other purposes.

The replayable activities may be competitive in nature and may be used to determine a ranking. A first set of data associated with an interactive content title may be received. The first set of data associated with the interactive content title may be received from an interactive content source server. The interactive content title may be is at least partially hosted at the interactive content source server. The first set of data may be associated with a replayable activity for the interactive content title. A score may be determined based on the first set of data for an associated user account. The associated user account may be placed in the ranking based on scores of other user accounts and respective sets of data associated with the replayable activity for the interactive content title.

Abstract: A method is provided, including: executing a first session of a video game by a cloud gaming system, wherein executing the first session generates a first game state of the video game for gameplay of the video game by a first user; streaming the gameplay of the video game over a network to enable the gameplay of the video game by the first user; receiving, during said gameplay, a command to share an interactive playable portion of the gameplay of the video game by the first user; responsive to the command, providing to a second user access to the interactive playable portion of the video game, through execution of a second session of the video game that generates a second game state of the video game for gameplay of the interactive playable portion by the second user.

Abstract: In various examples, metadata of either a live stream game instance or a pre-recorded game instance may be included in a stream data from a game stream and used to enable access to play an instance of a game. A viewer of the stream may desire to participate in an instance of the game, and the system may use the metadata to determine authentication for the viewer with respect to a game platform hosting the game, access restrictions for the viewer with respect to the game, identification information for the streamer of the instance of the game, and/or game modification information for the particular instance of the game within the stream. This information may be used to seamlessly transition the viewer from a passive role in viewing the stream of the instance of the game on a streaming platform to actively participating in the instance of the game or another instance of the game on a gaming platform.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to the application of coordinated or cooperative effects to a coordinated activity. A coordinated activity protocol is provided for synchronizing interactive effects and experiences across multiple devices. The protocol allows effects to be initiated and coordinated on multiple devices via a real-time communications (RTC) channel. Messages may be exchanged to cooperatively initiate the effect, and (once initiated) generic data may be exchanged via application programming interface (API) calls. According to some embodiments, the coordinated activity is a shared video experience, such as a video conference or shared video-watching experience. According to other embodiments, the coordinated activity relates to other types of experiences, such as single- or multi-player games, shared book reading, communal interactions with a photo album, etc.
