Abstract: An evacuation bridge for bridging a horizontal gap between two elevator cars of an elevator system in an emergency situation includes: a support structure having a base plate and at least one side part, wherein the base plate is attachable at its ends to evacuation openings of the elevator cars to form a walkway between the evacuation openings; wherein the side part is mounted movably between a first position and a second position to the base plate so that an overall width of the support structure is adjustable to a first overall width by moving the side part in the first position and to a second overall width by moving the side part in the second position; and wherein the first overall width is smaller than an individual width of each evacuation opening and the second overall width is larger than the individual width of each evacuation opening.

Abstract: A system determines the position of an elevator car movable in an elevator installation shaft. A transmitter emits modulated electromagnetic radiation with a first modulation frequency as a first output signal, a sensor cell receives electromagnetic radiation reflected by a detected object as an original measurement signal, and an evaluation unit, communicating with the transmitter and the sensor cell, delays the original measurement signal thus generating a delayed measurement signal, determines a first phase offset between the original measurement signal and the first output signal, determines a second phase offset between the delayed measurement signal and the first output signal, selects either the first phase offset or the second phase offset based upon a selection condition to determine a position of the elevator car within a portion of the elevator shaft, and determines the elevator car position based upon the elevator shaft portion and the position within the portion.

Abstract: The invention relates to an elevator system comprising an elevator car which has two car doors with electrically controllable door elements. A first car door is arranged on a first car wall and comprises a first electrically controllable door element. A second car door is arranged on a second car wall and comprises a second electrically controllable door element. The first door element and the second door element each have at least two visual permeability states, wherein a first visual permeability state allows a passenger to see through the door element and wherein a second visual permeability state obstructs a passenger's view through the door element. An elevator controller determines a car door to be opened and controls the door element of the car door to open in accordance with the first visual permeability state to allow viewing through the door element of the car door to be opened.

Abstract: A system and a method for determining the position of an elevator car, movably arranged in an elevator shaft of an elevator unit, use a 3D sensor, an evaluation unit in communication with the sensor, and a marking element actively emitting electromagnetic radiation. The sensor has a plurality of sensor cells and the evaluation unit uses measurement data received from the sensor to determine a distance from each sensor cell to a part of an object detected by the sensor. The sensor is arranged to detect the marking element and a region around the marking element as the object. The evaluation unit determines those sensor cells that detect the marking element and determines the position of the elevator car based on the determined distances to the detected object of those sensor cells and/or of sensor cells that are arranged in a region adjacent to those sensor cells.

Abstract: A method identifies a stuck situation of an elevator car and a counterweight suspended by carrying means on a traction sheave rotated by an electric motor. The method includes: receiving a load signal of a weight of a load located in the car; determining a preliminary torque depending on the load signal; receiving a speed signal representative of an actual speed of the car); monitoring a correction torque over a specified monitoring time period, the correction torque being determined depending on the speed signal and a specified reference speed such that the actual speed of the car approximates the reference speed; identifying the stuck situation wherein the car or the counterweight remains stuck, when the monitored correction torque meets at least one specified criterion; and carrying out a specified safety measure when the stuck situation is identified.
