    Abstract: A method for testing a wireless tag by a testing unit. The method comprises: transmitting, by a first antenna, a prescribed pattern that is recognizable by a tag to put the tag into a testing mode; transmitting a trigger signal to a tag from a second antenna, the trigger signal being adapted to cause a tag to at least respond with a prescribed signal when the tag is good; waiting up to a prescribed amount of time after transmission of the trigger signal for a response to the trigger signal from a tag that is within range of the second antenna; when a valid response is received from the tag within the prescribed amount of time, designating the tag as having passed the test; and when a valid response is not received from the tag within the prescribed amount of time, designating the tag as having failed the test.

    Abstract: An energy-aware system is provided. The system includes an energy harvester adapted to supply harvested energy as an output for storage at an energy storage; and a scheduler, the scheduler being made up of, at least in part, hardware of the energy-aware system, the scheduler operable to schedule execution of operations performed by the energy-aware system, wherein the scheduler is configured to: determine if a current voltage level at the energy storage is higher than a start voltage level; and cause initiation of execution of at least a portion one of the operations when the start voltage of the one of the operations levels is lower than or equal to the current voltage level.

    Abstract: A method for calibrating a value of an environmental condition derived information supplied by a wireless tag comprises: determining a value of an environmental condition impacting the wireless tag based on (i) information supplied by the wireless tag and (ii) a tag calibration model of the computing system; when a difference between the determined value of the environmental condition and a measurement of the environmental condition made by a user device exceeds a prescribed threshold, updating in real time, the tag calibration model, substituting the measurement of the environmental condition made by the user device for the determined value, and supplying in real time, as an output, the substituted measurement of the environmental condition made by the user device as if it was the value of the environmental condition derived from information supplied by the wireless tag.

    Abstract: Certain embodiments disclosed herein include a circuit for generating modulated backscattered sensory data. The circuit includes a sensor configured to produce sensory data in a format of a bitstream; a waveformer configured to generate a waveform signal (m(t)) compliant with a wireless protocol; a backscatter mixer configured to modulate each bit in the bitstream using the waveform signal; and a wakeup trigger configured to trigger the backscatter mixer in response to a reception of a packet from a first wireless device, wherein the modulated backscattered bitstream is being transmitted to a second wireless device.
