    Abstract: In a position detector having two sensors, a first sensor detects a position indicated by a first indicator by electromagnetic induction and a second sensor detects a position indicated by a second indicator by a detection method other than electromagnetic induction. The position detector reduces adverse effects of the transmission signal supplied to the second sensor on the electromagnetic induction position detection circuit. The position indication state of the first and second indicators is determined based on a signal output from the first sensor according to the position indication by the first indicator on the first sensor and a signal output from the second sensor according to the position indication by the second indicator on the second sensor. According to the determination results of the position indication state, the level of the transmission signal provided to the second sensor to detect the position indication by the second indicator is controlled.

    Abstract: A method performed by a pen or a pen detection apparatus that detects the pen, the method includes: acquiring a pen pressure level according to a force applied to a pen nib of the pen; generating a pen-down event or a pen-up event based on a result of comparing the pen pressure level and a pen pressure determination threshold; acquiring a proximity value indicating a positional relationship between the pen and the pen detection apparatus from a proximity detector provided on one of the pen and the pen detection apparatus; and updating the pen pressure determination threshold based on the pen pressure level when the proximity value indicates that the positional relationship between the pen and the pen detection apparatus satisfies a predetermined relationship.

    Abstract: There is provided a pressure sensing device including a plate-shaped member, plural strain sensitive materials arranged on the plate-shaped member, and a connection electrode electrically connected to a predetermined circuit. The plate-shaped member includes a surface portion having a center portion that receives force applied to a tip portion of a stylus. The plural strain sensitive materials include first and second strain sensitive materials arranged at different distances from the center portion of the surface portion of the plate-shaped member. The plural strain sensitive materials are formed on at least one surface portion of the plate-shaped member along with a conductive pattern that connects the first and second strain sensitive materials. The connection electrode is electrically connected to the plural strain sensitive materials, and the connection electrode is crimped and electrically connected to the predetermined circuit housed in the stylus.

    Abstract: An electronic pen includes a tubular casing, a core body having an end that protrudes from opening in the casing, a strain generating body that receives a force applied to the core body, a plurality of strain sensitive elements arranged on a planar portion of the strain generating body, a control circuit that performs control based on a signal sensed using the plurality of strain sensitive elements, and an electrical conductor that extends in the axial direction of the casing and is electrically connected to a plurality of terminals of the plurality of strain sensitive elements. The plurality of strain sensitive elements is electrically connected to the control circuit via the electrical conductor.
