Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide method and apparatus for P-CSCF restoration and P-CSCF information registration. A method performed by a session management node comprises receiving a message from a data management node or a policy control node or a first access and mobility node. The message may indicate proxy call session control function (P-CSCF) restoration and information of a failed P-CSCF. The method may further comprise receiving a profile of the failed P-CSCF from a network repository function (NRF). The profile of the failed P-CSCF may comprise address information of Mw interface of the failed P-CSCF and address information of Gm interface of the failed P-CSCF. The method further comprises deriving address information of Gm interface of the failed P-CSCF based on the information of the failed P-CSCF and the profile of the failed P-CSCF.

Particularly, both the response time and the accuracy of the notification about a change of a subscribed network function may be improved.

Disclosed batch termination techniques include the exchange of information during session establishment, for later determination of which affiliated sessions are subject to batch termination.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for establishing a Voice over LTE (Long Term Evolution) (VoLTE) call in a communication network are provided. After a request for establishing a VoLTE call is received, a user equipment (UE) involved in the VoLTE call that is in LTE coverage can be identified. One or more dummy messages are send to the identified UE after the VoLTE call enters into ringing phase. An interval between successive dummy messages is shorter than a first time period set for determining whether to release radio resource for supporting the VoLTE call in LTE coverage. Sending the dummy message can be stopped if the VoLTE call is answered or is cancelled. As a consequence, time spending on establishing a VoLTE call is shortened and good performance characteristics is achieved, and signallings on networks are reduced.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for assigning network address prefix. A method performed by a control plane function may comprise: receiving, from a terminal device, a request for assigning a network address prefix; determining whether the network address prefix is assigned by the control plane function or a user plane function; transmitting, to the user plane function, a PFCP Session Modification Request for requesting the user plane function to assign the network address prefix, if it is determined that the network address prefix is assigned by the user plane function; receiving, from the user plane function, a PFCP Session Modification Response including an assigned network address prefix; and transmitting the assigned network address prefix to the terminal device. The specific procedure for the terminal device to obtain the network address prefix from a network entity not directly requested by the terminal device may be defined.
