    摘要： A keypad assembly for a portable terminal is disclosed. The keypad assembly for the portable terminal includes a light guide plate which has reflection patterns locally formed on a lower surface of the light guide plate for reflecting a part of light transmitted in the light guide plate toward an upper surface of the light guide plate. The keypad assembly also includes at least one key button seated on the light guide plate, for outputting the light reflected by the reflection patterns out of the keypad assembly, upper and lower cases for containing the light guide plate, a switch substrate seated on a bottom surface of the lower case and having at least one switch, and an extension member which extends from an upper case of the portable terminal toward the switch substrate. The extension member has a reflection filter for reflecting the light exiting from the light guide plate toward the light guide plate back. The reflection filter is formed on an inner surface facing a side surface of the light guide plate.

    摘要： There is provided a metal etching mask fabrication method. Chrome is first sputtered on a silica layer and a photoresist, which is thicker than the chrome layer, is deposited on the chrome layer. The photoresist layer is patterned, a first nickel is sputtered on the photoresist pattern layer and onto a first portion of the chrome layer exposed by the patterning. A second nickel layer is formed on the portions of the first nickel layer in contact with the first portion of the chrome layer by electroplating. The photoresist pattern has side walls having acute angles to prevent contact between the first nickel layer on the photoresist and the second nickel layer on the first portion of the chrome layer. The photoresist pattern layer and the first nickel layer formed on the photoresist pattern layer are removed using a solvent, and the chrome layer is removed by dry etching in plasma using a gas.

    摘要： A keypad assembly using a waveguide for guiding lights emitted from light emitting devices is disclosed. The keypad assembly includes a switch board having a plurality of dome switches. The keypad also includes a plurality of key buttons; a plurality of light emitting devices included in the switch board; a waveguide formed under the key buttons, the waveguide having a predetermined refractive index to allow lights emitted from the light emitting devices to travel according to an internal total reflection condition; a plurality of reflecting patterns formed in the waveguide to reflect the light traveling through the waveguide toward the key buttons; and an auxiliary layer formed on the surface of the waveguide, the auxiliary layer having lower refractive index than that of the waveguide to make a constant total reflection condition.
