Abstract:
In the case of a severe collision, the severity of the collision exceeds a first threshold value at which a pretensioner mechanism starts to activate, and then exceeds a second threshold value within a collision-discriminating time range T following the start of the activation; therefore, the force limiter mechanism unit is set at a high load. In the case of a gentle collision, the severity of the collision exceeds the first threshold value, at which the pretensioner mechanism starts to activate, but does not exceed the second threshold value within the collision-discriminating time range T following the start of the activation; therefore the force limiter mechanism unit is set at a low load. Therefore, without a determination delay, the switching of the force limiter mechanism can be appropriately selected.

Abstract:
A motorcycle wherein only air can be communicated between the inside and the outside of a gear case without increasing the size of the gear case. A gear case includes a gear case body and a gear case cover. The gear case body includes a breather chamber of a labyrinth structure which continues in a circumferential direction of a rear wheel and extends in an upward and downward direction. An upper end of the breather chamber is in communication with a breather path and is open to atmospheric air while a lower end of the breather chamber is in communication with a gear chamber through a slit extending in a widthwise direction of the rear wheel.
Abstract:
A beach cleaner for recovering relatively heavy garbage or stones while minimizing the amount of sand entering a garbage recovery unit. The beach cleaner includes a frame formed by a longitudinal member and a lateral member. A towed portion is provided at the front portion of the frame for towing by a tow vehicle. A separator is provided at the lower front portion of the frame to separate and scrape garbage from sandy ground. A recovery unit is provided behind the separator to collect garbage scraped onto the mesh member. At least one separation rod unit is provided having a plurality of longitudinal members and a lateral member for joining the rear ends of the respective longitudinal members. The front end of at least one separation rod unit is secured to the separator so as to be turnable in the up-and-down direction.
Abstract:
A formulation which comprises coated granules and a water-soluble gel, wherein the coated granules comprise an oil absorbent which comprises cashew nut shell liquid, anacardic acid, cardanol, or cardol, and wherein the coated granules are suspended in the water-soluble gel.
Abstract:
A master oscillator may include: a pumping laser that outputs pumping light; a seed laser that is oscillated by the pumping light; an amplifier that amplifies the pulsed laser light outputted by the seed laser using the pumping light; at least one optical shutter disposed in the optical path between the seed laser and the amplifier; and a controller that causes the pumping laser to oscillate continuously at a predetermined repetition rate and that controls the optical shutter to open and close.

Abstract:
There is provided a work vehicle having a wheel lock mechanism that is compactly disposed while avoiding an effect of surrounding sand. A wheel lock mechanism 201 has a disc portion 202 rotating integrally with a wheel 53 inside a rim portion 56A of the wheel 53, and a slide member 20X that is movable in the axial direction of the wheel 52 so as to be freely engageable with the disc portion 202 inside the rim portion 56A and rotates integrally with the axle 52.
Abstract:
A brake control system that is received in a waterproof case and can be easily assembled even when a plurality of electric wires or hydraulic pipes is connected thereto is provided. A brake control system for a vehicle is connected to hydraulic brakes through a plurality of brake pipes 116a through 116e and controls hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic brakes, wherein the brake control system is received in a case 100 having a waterproof property, a pipe supporting member 101, which enables the plurality of the brake pipes 116a through 116e to be arranged from an external side of the case 100 into the case 100, is formed on the case 100, and the pipe supporting member 101 and the case 100 are detachably attached to each other through a seal member 102.
Abstract:
A rock slurry having a negative oxidation reduction potential, including a Bakuhan-seki rock slurry having a negative oxidation reduction potential may be manufactured or processed using granite porphyry or quartz porphyry. A resulting product may be useful in medical, health, and/or cosmetic applications.
