Provided are a method and an apparatus for determining an encoding mode for improving the quality of a reconstructed audio signal. A method of determining an encoding mode includes determining one from among a plurality of encoding modes including a first encoding mode and a second encoding mode as an initial encoding mode in correspondence to characteristics of an audio signal, and if there is an error in the determination of the initial encoding mode, generating a modified encoding mode by modifying the initial encoding mode to a third encoding mode.

One embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method of generating an encrypted multimedia bitstream, the method comprising: obtaining processed multimedia data; selecting an object to be encrypted from among the processed multimedia data; encrypting the selected object to be encrypted; converting the processed multimedia data into encrypted multimedia data, based on a result of the encrypting; and generating encrypted multimedia bitstream by encoding the encrypted multimedia data.

The frame error concealment (FEC) method includes: selecting an FEC mode based on at least one of a state of at least one frame and a phase matching flag, with regard to a time domain signal generated after time-frequency inverse transform processing; and performing corresponding time domain error concealment processing on the current frame based on the selected FEC mode, wherein the current frame is an error frame or the current frame is a normal frame when the previous frame is an error frame.
