Abstract:
The present invention is directed to methods for diagnosis and treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus and drug-induced systemic lupus erythematosus. More specifically, the specification describes methods using a lysosomal phospholipase A2 in methods for the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune disorders such as systemic lupus erythematosus and drug-induced systemic lupus erythematosus.
Abstract:
Brushcards are provided. The brushcards include a planar member having a plurality of sections, each separated by lines of weakness, each section having a handle region and a bristle region. The planar member includes at least one recess, and the member is configured to fold into a toothbrush.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a novel device for easy maintenance of smoke detectors, comprising a three dimensional “receptacle” that attaches to a pole and fits around a smoke detector housing to easily remove it from its mounting plate.
Abstract:
A management system for determining the security measures of a plurality of vendors. An assessment is performed on a plurality of vendors at a discount. The assessment is placed into a database and is reviewable and accessible by clients who subscribe to the management system. The management system allows clients to review and assess the security information regarding a plurality of vendors without the cost of performing an assessment of each vendor.
Abstract:
A plurality of devices used alone or in combination for releasing moisture from a building are provided. The devices are especially suitable for use in new or existing masonry and frame buildings with low-slope roofs, on parapet walls and mansard roofs, and on masonry walls and foundation walls. The devices give buildings adequate wall and roof system ventilation and moisture vapor release portals so as to better prevent mold and other water related damage. The devices may be used individually or in combination wherein the devices are placed on or against a parapet wall, masonry wall or foundation wall of a building. Further, the devices may be used in connection with a joist or truss system of a building to prevent moisture damage to the joists or truss system and to prevent compromises and other structural integrity problems to a building which often occur with moisture.
Abstract:
The present invention is a reversion control device including a housing with a proximal end and a distal end. The reversion control device further includes at least one reversion cone, a stationary vane and a flapper. In one example, the reversion control device includes an oxygen sensor for monitoring the oxygen content of the engine for routine operations or for diagnostic purposes. In an example, the housing includes an expansion chamber to house the reversion cone, the stationary vane and the flapper. In another example, the stationary vane is housed within the reversion cone. In yet another example, the reversion control device is integrated within an exhaust manifold elbow.
Abstract:
Keratin and derivatives thereof, preferably S-sulfonated keratin intermediate filament protein, S-sulfonated keratin high sulfur protein, and S-sulfonated peptides provide antioxidant activity, e.g., that equal to 200-2200 μmol TEAC/100 g or 100 ml, and are useful in an oral supplement to cause reduction in oxidative stress and benefits stemming therefrom, e.g., promoting skin health and to provide anti-inflammatory effect.
Abstract:
A range of personal care products that include a keratin protein fraction. The fraction may be intact or hydrolysed. It is preferably S-sulfonated. The content of the fraction may range from 0.001% to 50%. In most formulations its content will be less than 1% although in certain products such as nail care products the content will be higher. A wide range of personal care products are described including shampoos, body gels and lotions, conditioners, creams and cosmetics generally.
