Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are disclosed for establishing and using credit limits between counterparties and for managing risk in the trading of financial interests. The invention provides credit filtered views of executable market information to trading parties. By setting credit limits used to provide credit-filtered views, the invention provides trading parties the ability to control the amount of future financial exposure that the trading party will incur with any counterparty in one or more present-and/or future time periods in trades by the trading party during a trading session. A trading party may establish and use credit limits with potential counterparties in the trading of financial interests having a current or future financial exposure such as foreign exchange (“FX”) forwards contracts, forwards contracts in commodities, e.g., precious metals, energy, etc., stock options, futures contracts, bonds, loan contracts, money market certificates, other fixed income securities, etc. The credit information is used by a central computer to provide credit filtered market views to trading parties. During a trading session, the credit remaining of a set credit limit between the trading party and the respective counterparty is changed according to trades executed between the trading party and the counterparty.

Abstract: The invention provides systems, methods, and programs for improved computer trading of financial and other interests, including improvements in the making, acceptance, and control of proposals for transactions in interests. Among improvements provided by the invention are the presentation of terms of proposed transactions to trading parties in terms selected or otherwise designated by the trading parties. For example, terms of proposed transactions may be displayed in present or future values, such as in straight or split amounts for forward swap agreements. Prices in currency exchanges may be expressed in terms of any of the involved currencies. Improvements further include improved means for changing terms of proposed transactions, and especially groups or sets of proposed transactions; restrictions on repeated acceptance of transaction proposals; trading by users on each other's behalf; and improved display of transaction information associated with fellow traders.

Abstract: An insert track (30) of an insertion machine comprises a continuous elastomer belt (32) which travels a horizontal plate 9101) and proximate a plurality of insert station hoppers (52H-57H). The plate (101) has an upper surface (103) formed from an ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) polyethylene. The plate (101) is sandwiched in a friction fit between the insertion machine frame (100) and a track front edge guide (105). The plate carries a track rear edge guide (104). In its friction fit the plate (101) is slidable for selectively changing the width of the track from the track front edge guide (105) to the track rear edge guide (104). The track front edge guide (105) has a bridge member (112) connected thereto proximate each insert station (52-57). Each bridge member (112) extends above and across the width of the belt (32). Each bridge member (112) has a drag strip (113) suspendedly connected thereto proximate the midpoint of the belt (32). Each drag strip (113) has an axis of elongation which is parallel to the direction of travel of the belt (32). From its connection to its branch member (112), each drag strip (113) curves downwardly to gently ride on the belt (32). In addition to a feeder (60), each insert station has a pair of knock-down arms (126A, 126B) which direct an item relased by the feeder (60) onto the belt ( b 32). Each knock-down arm (126) has a pair of bristled brushes (132, 134) secured to a distal end thereof. The knock-down arms (126) are pivotable about an axis (121). The axis (121) about which the knock-down arms (126) oscillate is intermediate the hoppers (52H-57H) and the belt (32).

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are disclosed for establishing and using credit limits between counterparties and for managing risk in the trading of financial interests. The invention provides a trading party with the ability to control the amount of future financial exposure that the trading party will incur with any counterparty in one or more future time periods in trades by the trading party during a trading session. A trading party may establish and use credit limits with potential counterparties in the trading of financial interests having a future financial exposure such as foreign exchange (“FX”) forwards contracts, forwards contracts in commodities, e.g., precious metals, energy, etc., stock options, futures contracts, bonds, loan contracts, money market certificates, other fixed income securities, etc. Credit limits may be used to permit proposed trades to be completed or not depending upon available credit. Where there is insufficient credit, the trade may be blocked or otherwise prevented from progressing towards completion. For example, upon attempted acceptance of an unfiltered proposed trade, credit is checked for one or both parties. If there is sufficient credit, the trade is permitted to progress towards completion. If there is insufficient credit and if trading up to available credit is permitted, a partial trade for an amount up to the credit limit may be allowed. If a financial exposure associated with the proposed trade is greater than an available portion of a credit limit associated with the trading party, the potential counterparty, and a time period associated with the proposed trade, the proposed trade is not processed towards completion, or the price, size, or quantity of the proposed trade is capped. The future time periods (tenors for FX forwards contracts) may be selected by the trading parties, e.g., either or both a start date and an end date of such time periods may be selected. During a trading session, the credit remaining of a set credit limit between the trading party and the respective counterparty is changed according to trades executed between the trading party and the counterparty. After the end of the trading session, the remaining credit is automatically reset to the set credit limit for each counterparty and future time period.

Abstract: An insertion machine includes an insertion station (44) whereat groups of items are stuffed into an envelope held open at an envelope opening station (49). The insertion station comprises a cam (212)-driven carriage (202) which linearly reciprocates in a direction (480) toward and away from the envelope opening station (49). The carriage (202) carries a plurality of selectively mounted, selectively rotatable pusher fingers (204). The pusher fingers (204) have a profile suitable for shoving items along a partially inclined insertion plate surface 403 and into an opened envelope. The pusher fingers (204) are selectively rotatable to an operative orientation (720) and to an inoperative orientation (722) under the supervision of a controller (205). Jam detectors (550, 552) are provided proximate reciprocating entry flanges (500, 502) which move when a jam occurs in the inserting process. Should a jam occur, the pusher fingers (204) are controlled to rotate the their inoperative orientation (722). Access to the jam location is obtained by rotating the carriage (202) about an axis (415) and by swinging an envelope opening gate (660) about another axis (662). After the inserting of a group of items into an envelope, a flap moistener (70) detects a change in electromagnetic flux as the result of the travel of an opened envelope flap and sprays an atomized fluid along spaced-apart paths (699A, 699B) onto gummed regions of the envelope flap.

Abstract: A tufting machine having individual crank assemblies for reciprocating the push rods which carry the needle bar. Successive crank shafts aligned with each other and parallel to two main drive shafts which are rotated in opposite directions. Gears on the main drive shafts respectively transfer power from the two drive shafts so as to rotate each successive crank shaft in a direction opposite from the direction of rotation of the preceding crank shaft. The connecting rods connected to the crank assemblies thus are thrown outwardly in opposite directions as the crank shafts are rotated, so as to balance the machine. Additional counter-balance weights are provided on the main drive shafts.
