    Abstract: A radar transmitter includes: a plurality of transmission antennas that transmit a transmission signal; and a transmission circuit that applies a phase rotation amount corresponding to a Doppler shift amount and a code sequence to the transmission signal to perform multiplexing transmission of the transmission signal from the plurality of transmission antennas. Each of the plurality of transmission antennas is associated with each of a plurality of combinations of the Doppler shift amount and the code sequence. Each of the plurality of combination is different at least one of the Doppler shift amount and the code sequence, and the Doppler shift amounts of those of the plurality of combinations which are associated respectively with at least two transmission antennas of the plurality of transmission antennas are the same Doppler shift amount, the at least two transmission antennas being a first sub-array antenna.

    Abstract: Radar receiver calculates a first reception power in each of a predetermined number of beam directions by using a reflected wave signal in a first cell among a plurality of cells into which a region represented by at least one of a distance component and a Doppler frequency component is divided, calculates a second reception power on the basis of reception powers of reception array antennae by using the reflected wave signal in a peripheral cell of the first cell among the plurality of cells, and determines whether or not a target is present in the first cell on the basis of a comparison result between the first reception power and a first threshold value that is a value obtained by multiplying the second reception power by a first coefficient.

    Abstract: In a direction estimator, a horizontal array maximum likelihood estimator calculates first maximum likelihood values corresponding to NW angles in a first direction by performing a maximum likelihood estimation process on the first direction using signals received by a first virtual linear array and extracts first candidate angles of arrival of incoming waves in the first direction. A vertical array maximum likelihood estimator calculates second maximum likelihood values corresponding to the NW angles in a second direction by performing a maximum likelihood estimation process on the second direction using signals received by a second virtual linear array and extracts second candidate angles of arrival of incoming waves in the second direction. A horizontal/vertical maximum likelihood estimator estimates, using the first and second candidate angles of arrival, angles of arrival of the NW incoming waves in a two-dimensional plane extending in the first and second directions.

    Abstract: In a position estimation processing unit, by using the reflected wave signal of an array composed of receiving antennas arranged in a first direction among a plurality of receiving antennas, a maximum likelihood value extraction unit extracts the angle of arrival of a reflected wave signal in a first direction. An angle spread detection unit detects the angle spread in the first direction around the angle of arrival by using the reflected wave signal of the array. A target height estimation unit estimates the position of the target in the first direction by using the angle of arrival and the angle spread.

    Abstract: This receiving array antenna includes multiple receiving antenna rows, and each of the receiving antenna rows contains a first number of antennas; of the first number of antennas contained in the receiving antenna rows, mutually adjacent antennas are arranged separated by a first interval in a first axis direction and by a second interval in a second axis direction. The transmitting array antenna includes multiple transmitting antenna rows arranged in the second axis direction at an interval that is the first number times the second interval, each of the transmitting antenna rows contains multiple antennas, and the multiple antennas contained in the transmitting antenna rows are arranged in the same position in the second axis direction and in different positions in the first axis direction. The antennas contained in the transmitting antenna rows adjacent in the second axis direction are arranged in different positions in the first axis direction.
