Abstract: A physical-quantity sensor is configured to be used with a physical-quantity sensor element that outputs a sensor signal in response to a physical quantity. A physical-quantity detection circuit of the physical-quantity sensor includes a signal generating unit for generating a detecting signal and a multiplier that multiplies the sensor signal by the detecting signal. The signal generating unit converts a first phase of a predetermined signal having a frequency corresponding to a frequency of the sensor signal, into a second phase, and calculates an amplitude value corresponding to the second phase as to generate the detecting signal. This physical-quantity sensor improves accuracy of phase adjustment without increasing a sampling frequency.

Abstract: A physical quantity sensor includes a detection circuit that outputs a detection value indicating a physical quantity applied to a detecting element and a correction processor that corrects the detection value to output a corrected value. The correction processor causes the corrected value to be substantially 0 (zero) if all of conditions that an absolute value of a time-differentiated value of the detection value is not larger than a predetermined differential threshold and that an absolute value of the corrected value is not larger than a predetermined output threshold are satisfied. Abstract: A multi-directional operation switch device that can smoothly move a slider that is movable in four directions back to a neutral position is provided. The multi-directional operation switch device includes: a slider movable in the four directions; four push switches provided in the four directions to detect a movement of the slider; and four pressing members provided between the slider and the push switches. The slider includes four side face portions, each intersecting a first axis or a second axis, each axis extending in at least one of the four directions. Each side face portion includes a sloped region sloped toward a center of the slider. The push switches include movable portions, each movable portion self-returning and moving to an original position when pressing is released. Each pressing member is in contact with a corresponding one of the movable portions and a corresponding one of the side face portions.

Abstract: An angular velocity sensor including a vibration body having a sensor electrode, a driving electrode, and a monitor electrode. The monitor electrode generates a signal according to vibration of the vibration body. The sensor circuit outputs a signal representing an angular velocity applied to the vibration body. The amplitude determination circuit measures amplitude of vibration of the vibration body. A PLL circuit includes a constant voltage source for generating a constant voltage, a timing switching unit for outputting a voltage by switching selectively between the constant voltage and a voltage corresponding to the monitor signal, and a voltage-controlled oscillator for outputting an oscillation signal having a frequency corresponding to the voltage output from the timing switching unit. When the amplitude measured is smaller than a predetermined value, the timing switching unit outputs the constant voltage output from the constant voltage source and outputs a start-up mode signal.
