Abstract: A power electronics module for an electric vehicle includes a housing and a charger circuit including a circuit board with a plurality of electronic components on a first side of the housing. A motor controller circuit including a circuit board with a plurality of electronic components is provided on a second side of the housing. A cooling plate is provided in the housing and sandwiched between the inverter of the motor controller circuit on a first side of the cooling plate and the plurality of electronic components of the charger circuit on a second side of the cooling plate opposite the first side.

Abstract: An electric motorcycle including an electric motor having a transverse oriented rotation axis, the motor including a case. A rear wheel is drivably coupled to the motor for propulsion. A swingarm has a front end defining a swingarm pivot axis. A battery pack includes a plurality of rechargeable electrochemical cells received within an internal cell cavity of a battery case, the battery case formed to include a motor flange. The motor case and the battery case are joined at the motor flange to define a frame of the motorcycle. The motor flange, in side view, covers at least a portion of the motor and extends away from the cell cavity at least to the rotation axis of the motor. The swingarm front end has a first lateral portion pivotally coupled to the motor case and a second lateral portion pivotally coupled to the motor flange of the battery case.

Abstract: A motorcycle includes an electric motor having an output shaft defining a motor axis, a rear wheel drivably coupled to the electric motor to propel the motorcycle, a swingarm rotatably supporting the rear wheel, and a frame. The frame includes a main frame member supporting the electric motor and the swingarm. A case of the electric motor is a stressed member of the frame between the main frame member and the swingarm. The swingarm is coupled to the case of the electric motor to define a swingarm pivot axis that is co-axial with the motor axis.

The drive housing unit is positioned below the bottom side of the housing.
