Abstract: An outdoor unit of an air conditioner may include a case that forms an outer appearance of the outdoor unit; a barrier that divides an inner space of the case into a heat exchange space and an electric space; a heat exchanger disposed in the heat exchange space; a fan disposed in the heat exchange space; a refrigerant cycle device disposed in the electric space; and a shield assembly disposed in the electric space so as to completely surround an outside of the refrigerant cycle device. At least one pipe penetration hole through which a refrigerant pipe connected to the refrigerant cycle device may pass may be formed on one side of the shield assembly.

Abstract: An outdoor unit of an air conditioner includes a base panel having first inlet and outlet holes; a compressor; a tank storing water exchanging heat with refrigerant discharged from the compressor; a pump supplying the water to the tank; a vertical panel having second inlet and outlet holes; a deaerator removing gas contained in the heat-exchanged water flowing from the tank; and pipes connected to the tank, the pump, and the deaerator, the pipes including a first pipe connected to an inlet of the pump; a second pipe connecting an outlet of the pump and the tank; a third pipe connecting that tank and an inlet of the deaerator; and a fourth pipe connected to an outlet of the deaerator; and the first pipe and the fourth being connectable to the inlet and outlet holes of either the vertical panel or the base panel.

The control box assembly may include a control box connected to the outside air inlet and having electric components disposed therein; and a heat dissipation duct connected to an inside of the control box and that extends from one side of the control box to the barrier. The air introduced through the outside air inlet may be discharged to the heat exchange space after passing through the control box and the heat dissipation duct.

A frontward-to-backward width of a first side end of the orifice may be less than a frontward-to-backward of a second side end of the orifice.
