A digital device and a method of processing screensaver application in the digital device are disclosed. The digital device includes a manager to manage a display window of the digital device and to generate and to transmit a plurality of status data of the digital device to a controller, and the controller to receive a first signal from a first application requesting registration as an application voter, to transmit a second signal requesting a confirmation related to execute a second application to the first application when first status data is received from a service interface, to receive a response to the second signal from the first application, and to execute the second application to enter a screensaver mode based on the received response.

The present specification discloses various embodiments for a digital device and a control method thereof. Herein, a control method of a digital device according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: receiving a power-on signal; determining whether an application, which was executed at a power-off time point before the reception of the power-on signal, was an image output application; if it is determined that the application which was executed at the power-off time point was an image output application, loading and executing the image output application; loading and executing a first image control application for controlling an image that is output through the image output application; loading a second image control application; and, when the loading is completed, terminating the first image control application and executing the second image control application.

According to the present invention, a digital device for processing a screensaver includes a manager configured to manage a display window of the digital device and to generate and transmit first status data to a controller, a processor configured to collect application data including format data and reference data, and the controller configured to control to launch one or more applications, to transmit a signal requesting application data, to receive the requested application data, to transmit a control command to a screensaver application based on the received application data, and to execute the screensaver.

The present invention discloses a multimedia device capable of processing a recognized speech-based command. In one embodiment, the device may include a memory to store at least one application therein; an application manager for executing any of the at least one application stored in the memory; and a controller configured to receive from the application manager a list of at least one recognized speech-based command that can be executed by the executed application, wherein the controller is configured: to control a network interface module to transmit any speech-based data received from an outside and the list to the server; and to control the executed application or execute a function non-specific to the currently-executed application, based on a feedback result value received from the server via the network interface module.

According to the present invention, a digital device includes a manager configured to manage a window of the digital device and to generate and transmit first status data to a controller depending on whether the digital device is in a first status, a resource processor configured to manage and assign resources of the digital device, to receive status data and size data from launched applications and to configure and temporarily store application data for screensaver processing, and the controller configured to launching of one or more applications, to transmit a request to execute the screensaver to the resource processor if the first status data is received from the manger, to transmit a control command to a screensaver application based on a response of the resource processor according to the request, and to control the screensaver, wherein the resource processor returns a response to the request to execute the screensaver based on resource data about resource assignment and use of the digital device and the temporarily stored application data according to the request of the controller.
