Abstract: An apparatus configured for heat dissipation that includes a heat source, a heat sink and a heat conducting element. The heat conducting element conducts heat energy from the heat source to the heat sink along a heat conducting path, and the heat conducting element is arranged in such a way on the heat source and the heat sink and is configured to physically change in such a way with increasing temperature of the heat conducting element that: a) a first cross-sectional area between the heat source and the heat conducting element and/or a second cross-sectional area between the heat conducting element of the heat sink increases, and/or b) a length of the heat conducting path shortens. Further, a video endoscope having such an apparatus and a use of such an apparatus is provided.

Abstract: An optical observation instrument according to the invention, in particular a surgical microscope or exoscope, comprises an optics unit with an objective arrangement and at least one electronic image recorder, wherein the optics unit has a first stereo channel with a first beam path and a second stereo channel with a second beam path for recording a stereo image of an object field with the at least one electronic image recorder and wherein the first and the second beam path extend through the objective arrangement. The instrument moreover comprises a retaining apparatus, on which the optics unit is mounted so as to be rotatable about a first axis of rotation, the latter at least approximately corresponding to an axis of the objective arrangement, wherein the optical observation instrument has a viewing direction that is angled in relation to the axis of the objective arrangement and comprises a deflection element, arranged on the object-side of the objective arrangement, for deflecting the first and the second beam path into the objective arrangement. The invention further relates to a method for generating a stereo image of an object field.

Abstract: A stereo endoscope for capturing a first image which is provided to be observed by a first eye and a second image which is provided to be observed by a second eye, including a shaft with a distal end region, a first image sensor in the distal end region of the shaft, for capturing the first image, and a second image sensor in the distal end region of the shaft, for capturing the second image. The first image sensor and the second image sensor are arranged offset relative to one another in a direction which is parallel to at least either a light-sensitive layer of the first image sensor or a light-sensitive layer of the second image sensor and which is orthogonal to a longitudinal axis the distal end region of the shaft. Abstract: The invention concerns a handle for a video endoscope including a housing and an interface portion rotatably supported relative to the housing where the interface portion includes a first connector element at its distal end section that is connectable to a second connector element of an associated elongate shaft of the video endoscope. Thereby a detachable, rotatable electrical and/or mechanical connection between the handle and the associated shaft is achieved. The coupling includes an electrical connection assembly arranged at an exterior of the interface portion forming an electrical connection to a stationary electric component of the handle. The handle includes a mechanical rotation stop for a rotation of the interface portion relative to the housing such that a rotation range is limited and damage to the electrical connection assembly is prevented.

Abstract: The invention relates to a filter interchange apparatus for an optical observation instrument having two beam paths, in particular for a stereoscopic observation instrument, in particular for a stereo video endoscope, a stereo exoscope or a stereo surgical microscope, wherein the filter interchange apparatus comprises a first filter wheel, a second filter wheel and a third filter wheel, wherein the filter wheels are arranged in succession along a common axle and are rotatable about the common axle and relative to one another. Each filter wheel comprises at least one filter and at least one free optical passage such that a filter or a free optical passage of each filter wheel is introducible into each of the two beam paths. The second filter wheel is drivable and the first filter wheel is coupled to the second filter wheel via a first entrainment element and the third filter wheel is coupled to the second filter wheel via a second entrainment element. Moreover, the invention relates to an optical observation instrument having two beam paths, in particular a stereo video endoscope, a stereo exoscope or a stereo surgical microscope, and to a method for changing a filter of an optical observation instrument.

Abstract: The present application provides a passive holding device for handling a trocar and a modular surgical system. The passive holding device has a fastening device with a coupling portion. A pivoting mechanism is connected to the coupling portion via a rotary joint. The pivoting mechanism has two L-shaped branches arranged parallel to one another, each having a short leg that is connected to a long leg via a pivot joint. The short leg of the first branch is longer than the short leg of the second branch and is connected to the long leg via a rotary shaft. The trocar holder has a gripping device and has an instrument brake. A tilting brake is arranged at the coupling portion, operatively connected to the rotary joint, and a pivoting brake is arranged at the coupling portion operatively connected to at least one of the terminal pivot joints.
