Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure include a recall notification method, a method for communicating an action to be performed by a device, and a method of operating a relay service by a network device. One embodiment of the recall notification method may comprise periodically transmitting, by a network interface of a medical device implanted in a user's body, a poll request to a recall service endpoint. The method may further comprise receiving, by the network interface in response to the poll request, a recall notification; and in response to receiving the recall notification, directly notifying the user.

Abstract: An emergency token for one-time, highly restricted, access to an arbitrary WiFi network, while maintaining full network security and integrity, is disclosed. When an IoT medical device (IMD) detects failure in the IMD, or detects the patient having a medical emergency, IMD detects local active WiFi networks, and attempts connecting to a monitoring center through one of the networks. If the network is password protected, the connection may fail. The IMD retries the connection request using factory-installed one-time use token that is only for emergency calls only. If successful, the IMD sends an emergency message to the monitoring center, which dispatches emergency responder to the location of the IMD. Monitoring center invalidates the token with the central on-line token registrar when both the IMD and the monitoring center acknowledges that the notification is successful. A person having the proper security authorization can install a new one-time use token.

Abstract: A method and system for improving a shared memory file transfer setup and usage is provided. The method includes configuring network links connected between hardware nodes. For every shared storage link, each hardware node includes a command section and a data storage section. A storage capacity for a hardware disk drive is determined based on a number of the hardware nodes and the hardware disk drive is connected to the hardware nodes. A software agent is installed within each of the hardware nodes and properties for the network links are configured. Each software agent is enabled and a connectivity status, bandwidth, and loading condition are tested for each of the network links. Each hardware node is registered with the hardware disk drive and communications between the hardware disk drive and the hardware nodes are enabled via the network links.

Abstract: A method to display a representation of multimedia content that includes a progress bar. The method includes shortening a portion of the multimedia content having a start time and an end time from an original length to a shortened length based on a received indication and modifying the progress bar to represent the shortened portion of the multimedia content. The original length of the portion is represented by a curve adjacent to the progress bar, where a first end of the curve is adjacent to the progress bar at a location indicating the start time, and where a second end of the curve is adjacent to the progress bar at a location indicating the end time, and the shortened length of the portion is represented by a distance on the progress bar between the location indicating the start time and the location indicating the end time.
