Abstract:
A balanced pressure regulator includes a valve body having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet connected by a fluid passageway. A valve seat is disposed within the fluid passageway. A balanced plug assembly is disposed within the fluid passageway, the balanced plug assembly including a valve plug that cooperates with the valve seat to selectively open or close the fluid passageway, a retainer operatively connecting the valve plug to a valve stem, a diaphragm separating a chamber from the fluid passageway, a central balancing passage that fluidly connects the fluid passageway with the chamber, and a peripheral balancing passage that fluidly connects the fluid passageway with the chamber, the peripheral balancing passage being located between the retainer and the valve plug.
Abstract:
Noise attenuation apparatus for fluid devices are disclosed herein. A noise attenuation apparatus includes a first plate having a plurality of first openings to reduce noise generated by a fluid flowing through a fluid device and a second plate having a plurality of second openings to reduce noise generated by the fluid. The second plate directly engages the first plate, and the first openings to at least partially align with the second openings when the first plate is in direct engagement with the second plate to define a flow passageway of the noise attenuation apparatus.
Abstract:
Control systems include various combinations of pressure regulators, pilots, and pressure stabilizers to provide systems with adjustable deadbands for over pressure protection, adjustable deadbands for under pressure protection, adjustable deadbands for both over pressure and under pressure protection, pressure assisted closure for over pressure protection, pressure assisted closure for under pressure protection, pressure assisted closure for both over pressure and under pressure protection, or spring assisted closure for over pressure and under pressure protection.
Abstract:
A slam-shut safety device includes a valve body defining a flow path, a valve disc support, and a valve disc that is mounted on the valve disc support and is movable between an open first position spaced away from the valve seat and a closed second position seated against a valve seat. A reset pin is operatively coupled to the valve disc support and is shiftable between an untripped position placing the valve disc in the open position and a tripped position placing the valve disc in the closed position. An anti-rotation assembly is carried by cooperating portions of the valve disc and the valve disc support, with the anti-rotation assembly comprising at least one protrusion and at least one receiving area sized to receive the protrusion, the anti-rotation assembly arranged to stop rotation of the valve disc relative to the valve disc support.
Abstract:
A fluid regulator includes a balance port regulator valve and an actuator coupled to the regulator valve. The regulator valve has an inlet, an outlet, a valve port disposed between the inlet and the outlet, and a valve disc movable along a longitudinal axis between a closed position in which the valve disc sealingly engages the valve port and an open position in which the valve disc is spaced apart from the valve port. The actuator is responsive to fluid pressure to move an actuator stem along the longitudinal axis. A connector assembly operably and removably connects the valve disc to the actuator stem.
Abstract:
A stabilizer cartridge for enhancing stability of a fluid regulator is provided. The stabilizer cartridge includes a body, a first disk, and a second disk. The body has a through-bore and an external flange. The first disk has one or more windows and an aperture, and is fixed on an exterior surface of the body. The second disk is slidable along the exterior surface of the body and is biased into contact with the first disk by a biasing element that is positioned between the external flange and the second disk.
Abstract:
A stabilizer cartridge for enhancing stability of a fluid regulator is provided. The stabilizer cartridge includes a body, a first disk, and a second disk. The body is adapted to be disposed around a valve stem of the fluid regulator. The first disk is coupled to the body and defines one or more flow paths for facilitating pressure relief. The second disk is movably coupled to the body and is movable relative to the first disk responsive to fluid flow through the one or more flow paths of the first disk.

A slam shut safety device includes a valve body, a valve disc, a reset pin, and a reset pin guide. The valve disc is disposed within the valve body and shiftable along a slam shut axis between an open position and a closed second position. The reset pin is operatively coupled to the valve disc and shiftable along the slam shut axis relative to the valve body between an untripped position placing the valve disc in the open position and a tripped position placing the valve disc in the closed position. The reset pin guide supports one end of the reset pin, thereby providing added structural integrity to the reset pin and valve disc.
Abstract:
A slam-shut safety device having a disc arrestor includes a valve body, a valve seat between an inlet and an outlet, and a reset pin shiftable between untripped and tripped positions. A valve disc support includes has a threaded stem and is operatively coupled to the reset pin. A valve disc fits on the stem of the support and shifts in response to movement of the valve disc support between an open position and a closed second position in which the valve disc is seated against the valve seat. A threaded nut is securable to the threaded portion of the stem of the valve disc support, and an arrestor spring is positioned on the stem of the valve disc support and is secured by the threaded nut. The arrestor spring is arranged to apply a biasing force to valve disc.
