Abstract:
A gripper for grasping and conveying objects while retaining the objects, and to a corresponding conveyor system and an operating method. The gripper has a gripper body and first and second gripper jaws. The gripper jaws each include at least one respective clamping region, can assume an open state and a closed state relative to each other, and can exert a clamping force on each other or on the object to be grasped. At least one of the gripper jaws includes a jaw body that is elastically deformable and is supported on the gripper body such that the body assumes a defined spatial position (resting position) when force is not applied to a control element and deforms and is deflected from the resting position when force is applied to the control element.
Abstract:
Flat articles are inserted into printed products (3) continuously conveyed by grippers (11) of a gripper conveyor (1), wherein the printed products are held by the grippers at their fold or spine edges and wherein the grippers (11) are conveyed through a deflection region from below round an essentially horizontal deflection axis (2). Pegging elements (4) rotating around the deflection axis (2) are arranged along both sides of the deflection region and synchronized with the grippers, and form axially aligned and inter-spaced pairs and are radially distanced from the grippers. The printed products (3) are conveyed in a hanging manner into the deflection region and they are opened immediately upstream of the deflection region. The pegging elements (4) are activated as the grippers (11) enter the deflection region to grab the trailing part (32) of one opened printed product (3) and the leading part (31) of the next product by the corners opposite the fold or spine edge by clamping them together until the grippers (11) exit the deflection region.
Abstract:
A process and apparatus for conveying printed products of the type having a main surface and a side edge, wherein each product is retained in the region of its side edge by an individual gripper, and wherein each gripper and its retained product are conveyed along a conveying path. The printed products are initially oriented such that their side edges run essentially perpendicularly to the conveying direction, and the grippers and products are then rotated about an axis of rotation which is perpendicular to the side edge of the product and perpendicular to the conveying direction. The spacing of the grippers may also be changed during such rotation.

Abstract:
Holding elements (1) equipped for transporting individual articles (2) in a held manner and being movable along a stretch of rail (5) independently of one another at least to a limited extent and having in pushed operation a regular minimum distance between one another, are banked-up during transportation at a banking-up point by a banking-up device (16) to form an accumulation store (12) upstream of the banking-up point. The holding elements are released in groups from the accumulation store (12) in a controlled manner and are conveyed away from the accumulation store. The holding elements (1) in the groups (15) advantageously are spaced the minimum distance from one another. For pre-forming the groups to be released (12) there is a further banking-up device (16) provided in the accumulation store (12). The further banking-up device acts at a further banking-up point upstream of the first banking-up point. The stream of groups being conveyed away from the accumulation store (12) can be supplied without any further transformation steps to a unit, in which the groups of articles held by holding elements (1) are processed (e.g. stacked and packed).
Abstract:
A gripper for holding and conveying flat objects (P) in a firmly held manner, in particular printed material such as newspapers, magazines or brochures, includes two clamping tongues (4 and 5) which can pivot relative to one another into an open and into a closed configuration, wherein the clamping tongues (4 and 5) are pressed against one another in the closed configuration. The distal ends of at least one of the clamping tongues (4 and 5) are fitted with two elastic arms (30) that extend laterally away from the clamping tongue, in the same direction as the clamping force, a clamping jaw (10, 11) being arranged at the free end of each of the arms. The contact surfaces of the clamping jaws of at least one clamping tongue adapt to fit the contact surface of an opposite clamping jaw or a clamped object, under compression force, for example, they are mounted on the arm (30) by means of a ball joint.
Abstract:
In a conveyor chain, which includes chain links (1) being connected to one another via pivoting bearings (4), each chain link (1) has two link plates (2 and 3) and a bolt (5) which connects the two bolt ends (2.2 and 3.2) of the link plates (2 and 3) and is articulately mounted in the bearing ends (2.1 and 3.1) of the link plates (2 and 3) of an adjacent chain link. The bearing housing of the pivoting bearing (4) comprises two bearing housing parts (8 and 9), and each bearing housing part (8 and 9) comprises a part flange (17). The part flange (17) of the bearing housing parts (8 and 9), and the bearing ends (2.1 and 3.1) of the link plates (2 and 3) are held together with the help of a common fixation means, in a manner such that, alone by way of this fixation means, the bearing housing parts (8 and 9) firmly enclose the bearing body (6) and are fastened in the bearing ends (2.1 and 3.1) of the link plates (2 and 3), secured against rotation and axial displacement, and the bearing ends (2.1 and 3.1) of the link plates (2 and 3) are fixed relative to one another.
Abstract:
A device according to the invention for monitoring two sheet products transported by means of a clamp of a transport device. The device has at least two sensors that are intended to generate signals on the basis of which the number of products held in the clamp can be determined. A first sensor hereby generates a first detection signal referred to as reference signal when a clamp passes a reference area assigned to this first sensor. The second sensor is arranged in such a way that it generates a second detection signal when at least one section of one of the products in a second side edge area free from the clamp passes through its assigned detection area.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a first product (20) which supports identification information (30) and a second product (22) which, optionally, supports identification information (30′). Said first and second products are maintained and transported together by a clamp (12), such that the second printing product (22) at least partially overlaps the first printing product (20). The identification information (30) of the first printing product (20) is arranged in the edge section (26) and the identification information (30′) of the second printing product (22) is free. The printing products (22, 22) are subjected to an optical-electronic control where an image capturing device (38) captures an image of the identification information (30, 30′), when a control point is passed. The captured image is electronically processed and the result thereof is transformed into control signals.
