    Abstract: This application relates to a magnetic attachment mechanism attached to a stand for a display unit. The display unit includes a housing enclosing a display panel. The housing has a recess formed on a rear surface of the housing to accept the magnetic attachment mechanism. The magnetic attachment mechanism includes a magnetic element that is magnetically coupled to a corresponding magnetic element in the housing of the desktop display device when the magnetic attachment mechanism is inserted into the recess. The magnetic attachment mechanism also includes a latch mechanism that locks the display unit to the stand when the latch mechanism is engaged with a surface feature of the recess. The latch mechanism can be disengaged to allow for mobility of the display unit as separated from the stand.

    Abstract: A aesthetically appealing mounting system for an electronic device capable of forming a semi-conductive path for electro-static discharge. The mounting system can include an electrically conductive layer covered by a cosmetic anodized layer with multiple micro-perforations formed through the anodized layer exposing a small portion of the electrically conductive layer. The micro-perforations can be formed by laser-etching the cosmetic anodized layer to provide a grounding path while the micro-perforations remain visually undetectable. A semi-conductive wear layer can be configured to couple with the anodized layer. In some embodiments, the semi-conductive wear layer is in a recess on an electronic device. In some embodiments, the semi-conductive wear layer is comprised of a conformal conductive rubber.

    Abstract: An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device may include a display or desktop computing device with a display. The electronic device may be part of a system that includes a stand designed to support the electronic device, and further allow the electronic device to rotate to different positions. In order to control the relative rotational movement of the electronic device, a friction member is secured with the electronic device by an adhesive. The rotation, however, exerts shear forces on the friction member and the adhesive. In order to prevent delamination of the friction member from the housing due to the shear forces, the housing is modified to include protruding elements that penetrate, or extend into, the adhesive. The protruding elements can mechanically interlock with the adhesive to offset the shear forces, and also created additional surface with which the adhesive can bond.
