Abstract: A drivetrain component provides an electronically controlled, overrunning drivetrain disconnect, such as a differential with different operating modes. The drivetrain component includes a coupling member and a rotatable member rotating about the central axis. A first locking structure selectively mechanically couples the coupling member to the rotatable member, and a second locking structure selectively mechanically couples the coupling member to the rotatable member. The first locking structure engages a locking abutment of the rotatable member, and the second locking structure engages a locking abutment of the rotatable member.

Abstract: A wheel hub clutch includes: a notch plate; a pocket plate having pockets and plunger passages in communication with the pockets; locking members carried in the pocket plate pockets; and plungers carried in the pocket plate plunger passages and configured to drive the locking members into engagement with the notches in the notch plate. The clutch also may include a translator with a permanent magnet that cooperates with an electromagnet of a stator to translate the translator. The translator may be coupled to the locking members to translate them into and out of engagement with the notch plate. Also disclosed is a wheel end system including the wheel hub clutch, a drivetrain including the wheel end system and wheel hub clutch, and a vehicle including the drivetrain.

The carrier includes a differential gear set. The differential gear set has a pinion shaft tied to the carrier, pinion gears mounted on the pinion shaft, differential gears engaging the pinion gears, and differential gear shafts connected to the differential gears. The drivetrain component including a first locking structure, the first locking structure coupling the case to the carrier for torque transmission from the case to the carrier in a first direction only, wherein the first locking structure does not inhibit carrier rotation in a second direction.

Abstract: A dynamic controllable dog clutch (DCDC) includes a pocket plate, a notch plate, and a linear actuator having a stator and a translator. Abstract: A coupling and control assembly for use in a motor vehicle such as a hybrid vehicle is provided. The assembly includes a first coupling face of an engine powertrain component or part supported by the powertrain component for rotation therewith about an axis. The first coupling face has a first set of locking formations. The assembly also includes a coupling member supported on a stationary member of the vehicle. The coupling member has a second coupling face in close-spaced opposition with the first coupling face. The assembly further includes an electromechanical actuator to move a locking element across a gap towards the first coupling face to a coupling position in response to the actuator receiving an electrical control signal. The locking element abuttingly engages one of the locking formations to prevent rotation of the powertrain component in a first direction about the axis in the coupling position.

Abstract: A coupling assembly has a second coupling member mounted for rotation and a first coupling member having a speed sensor to sense a speed of rotation of the second coupling member. The coupling assembly further has a forward and a reverse locking element movable between (i) a coupling position in which the locking elements engage the second coupling member to thereby prevent rotation of the second coupling member in opposite first and second directions and (ii) a non-coupling position. Upon the speed of rotation of the second coupling member decreasing to be lower than a hill-hold speed threshold, the reverse locking element is moved to the coupling position while the forward locking element is maintained in the non-coupling position. Irrespective of a Park command, the locking elements are maintained in the non-coupling position while the speed of rotation of the second coupling member is greater than a park speed threshold.

Abstract: An assembly includes first and second coupling members, an actuator, and a biasing member.
