    Abstract: A method and a system involve the insertion of digital data into a number of video frames of a video stream, such that the video frames contain both video content and the inserted digital data. The video, including the inserted digital data is then visually conveyed to and received by an augmented reality device without the use of a network connection. In the augmented reality device, the digital data is detected, processed and used to provide computer-generated data and/or information. The computer-generated data and/or information is then presented on a display associated with the augmented reality device or otherwise reproduced through the augmented reality device, where the computer-generated data and/or information supplements the video content so as to enhance the viewing experience of the augmented reality device user.

    Abstract: An augmented reality system and method that allows a user to access, and more particularly, install and subsequently have access to an application on an augmented reality mobile device. The system and method enhances the augmented reality experience by minimizing or eliminating user interaction in the process of initiating the installation of the application. This is achieved, at least in part, through the use of a passively activated application program. It is passively activated in that it effects the application installation based on signals received and processed by the augmented reality mobile device, where the signals reflect the surrounding environment in which the augmented reality mobile device is operating. No direct interaction by the user of the augmented reality mobile device is required to initiate the installation of the application.
