Abstract:
Disclosed is a lip balm applicator that can be used with just one hand. The applicator has a cover and base connected by a semi-flexible hinge. Within the base is a container for holding lip balm. The base and cover lock together when their edges are aligned and compressed, and they are opened by breaking the alignment. There are grips on the base for easy, one-handed manipulation of the applicator. Lip balm is applied by pressing the lips on the balm material in the container.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a registration kiosk for use in managing individual healthcare services and information. The electronic registration kiosk provides access control to healthcare information stored on medical smart cards by including biometric authentication, includes a high definition camera for capturing images, and provides a large interactive touch screen. The electronic registration kiosk comes in a variety of different models including different floor kiosks, and a wall-mountable kiosk. Individuals can access a registration kiosk to apply for a medical smart card, print medical directive forms, and/or request prescription refills and receive confirmation via, text or email when the prescription is ready.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an electronic kiosk for dispensing medical smart cards and healthcare related forms, and for managing individual healthcare services and information. The electronic kiosk provides access control to healthcare information stored on medical smart cards by including biometric authentication, a high definition camera for capturing images, and an interactive touch screen. A central client-server configuration is provided where a plurality of electronic kiosks are connected to an application server, via a network. Individuals may access the electronic kiosk to request prescription refills and receive confirmation via, text or email when the prescription is ready.
Abstract:
Improved methods and systems that assist a user in searching media items on a portable electronic device are disclosed. According to one aspect of the invention, a portable electronic device is provided with a search function that enables a user to search for media items resident on the portable electronic device. The search function can search through different types of media items. Those of the media items that are deemed matching can be ranked in order of relevance and displayed in a list for the user. Thereafter, the user can navigate the list to select one of the listed media items for playback. According to another aspect of the invention, various graphical user interfaces can be presented on a portable electronic device to assist a user in interacting with the portable electronic device to utilize a search function.
Abstract:
An error amplifier for closed loop operation is provided. The error amplifier has a track input and a feedback input. During soft-start, a voltage offset is added to the error amplifier input. In one embodiment, the voltage offset is gradually removed during the soft-start.
Abstract:
A investment portfolio accounting system and method are provided. The system determines the percentage ownership in a number of investment securities. The system flags securities according to predetermined accounting and business rules. Consolidating or derecognizing the security with others interests is also determined by the system in accordance with predetermined rules. In one example, the accounting system flags (or communicates) a determination to consolidate according to percentage ownership. System reports generated by the accounting system are chronicled in a reporting database for downstream accounting systems.
Abstract:
An audio input interface (122) receives a digital audio signal and identifies an audio bitstream which is optionally decrypted by a decryption unit (123), and decoded by an audio decoding unit (124). An audio digital to analog converter (126) converts the decoded audio bitstream to an analog audio signal which is optionally decrypted by an audio analog decryption unit (127). A video input interface (142) receives a digital video signal and identifies a video bitstream which is optionally decrypted by a video digital decryption unit (143), and decoded by a video decoding unit (144). A video digital to analog converter (146) converts the decoded video bitstream to an analog video signal that is optionally decrypted by a video analog decryption unit (147). An analog transmitter (150) mixes the analog audio signal and analog video signal and transmits an analog wireless output signal to an analog wireless device (110).
