    Abstract: Probes that are versatile, easy to use, and provide rapid results for detecting and quantifying levels of small molecules that include steroids, hormones, antibodies, aptamers and enzymes such as various steroidal hormones like estrogen, progesterone and testosterone in samples. This is particularly useful in home and clinical settings. A probe useful in competitive assays includes a competitive ligand bound to a linker molecule bound to a detectable tag. The linker may be chemical, DNA or a combination of both.
