    Abstract: A hinge having dual axes includes two hinge members each having a hinge leaf and one or more knuckles, a pivot pin received in a longitudinally extending bore in each knuckle, each pivot pin also received in one of two apertures in one or more connector plates that interconnect the hinge members, and one or more springs biasing the hinge members toward a closed position, so that the knuckles are rotatably disposed adjacent to each other, each hinge member independently rotatable about one of two pivot axes, and only a single seam is presented between the two knuckles as the hinge members move between open and closed configurations. In one embodiment a connector incorporating the connecting plates covers and hides the springs from view.

    Abstract: A packaging system for shipping floral arrangements includes an elongated presentation box sized to hold a floral arrangement, such as a dozen roses. The presentation box includes two long side panels, a floor panel extending between the side panels, head end and a stem end panels each extending between the side and floor panels, a top opening defined by the side and end panels, and an elongated inner lid hingedly connected on one of its long sides to one of the side panels. The inner lid extends longitudinally from a first end adjacent to the stem end panel to a second end spaced away from the head end panel such that it folds over only a portion of the top opening and creates a presentation opening bounded by the head end panel, side panels and the second end of the inner lid for displaying the flowers of the floral arrangement.

    Abstract: A luminaire is provided for illuminating a task surface and a volume of space above and about the task surface, including a limited human occupiable space proximate the task surface. The luminaire includes a body having a base end and an extension portion extending from the base end. A task lighting element on the body, and suitably at the base of the body, directs light in a directional light distribution pattern toward a task surface. Area light sources on the extension portion of the body emit light in a diffuse light distribution pattern for illuminating the volume of space over the task surface and a limited human occupiable space proximate the task surface.
