摘要:
Circuitry for extending the sustain time of a DC converter power supply in the event of interruption of AC power. Where in the circuit includes a capacitor storage element, an associated charge path for controllably charging the capacitor bank and discharge and disconnect paths for discharging the energy stored in the capacitor to sustain operation of the DC power converter and for disconnecting the capacitor from the DC converter when the voltage across the capacitor has discharged below a threshold level and prevents the capacitor from creating and introducing periodic ringing transient oscillations into the same charging means, with the charging means and discharging means therefore being connected to said DC voltage source to provide a charging path to said raw DC voltage source during normal operation of the AC power source, and a discharging means to provide a discharging path for said capacitor means to sustain operation of a power converter means during momentary interruption of the AC power source and to disconnect said capacitor means from the DC source means and dc converter means wherein said capacitor means has been discharged to a minimum level required to insure proper operation of said power converter means.

Circuitry for extending the sustain time of a computer power supply in the event of interruption of commercial A.C. power includes a capacitor bank, an associated charge path for controllably charging the capacitor bank during stable operation of the commercial A.C. power source, and discharge and disconnect paths for discharging the energy stored in the capacitor bank to sustain operation of the computer during interruption of the commercial A.C. power source and for disconnecting the capacitor from the computer power supply when the voltage across the capacitor bank has discharged below a threshold level.

An integral casting flask/vacuum chamber combination is disclosed in which an inner tube forming the casting flask is disposed coaxially inside of an outer tube thus forming a vacuum chamber between the two tubes. The inner tube has holes formed in its circumference to provide for uniform evacuation of air from the investment for pulling the casting material into the mold. A shoulder portion integrally connects the inner tube with the outer tube in such a way that the bottom edge of the inner tube is suspended above the bottom edge of the outer tube and the top edge of the inner tube is suspended above the top edge of the outer tube. This device is used in combination with a vacuum table and does not require the complex and expensive conventional vacuum chamber.

A nasal aspirator/irrigation device can be used in a method of obtaining human mucopurulence suited for culturing to determine the type of pathogens contained in it. The aspirator includes a hollow body having a top portion and a bottom portion, a hollow capture chamber connected to the bottom portion, a nasal conduit connected to the body top portion having a free end dimensioned to fit into a human nostril, and a vacuum control conduit which extends upwardly from the body top portion. The free end has a hollow triangular prism shape adapted to provide a good fit in a human nostril, and the capture chamber is releasably connected, such as by screw-threads, so that it can be detached, sealed, and shipped to a diagnostic site. The capture chamber may include culture media in it prior to utilization. Sterile liquid is introduced into a first of the patient's nostrils, the aspirator device--connected to vacuum--introduced into the other nostril. The recaptured liquid and entrained mucopurulence is placed in the sealed container and transported to a pathogen-diagnostic site.
