摘要: The document describes an assembly of a capsule and brew chamber for a beverage preparation machine. The brew chamber has a first brew chamber part including a cavity for the capsule, and knives for piercing the capsule. The aluminum capsule body is frusto conical shaped and has a bottom, a side wall, a flange and a lid for closing the capsule. The flange is configured to be held between the first and a second brew chamber part, to provide a seal cooperating with a rim of the brew chamber parts. The bottom includes a slanted wall portion under an angle with a longitudinal axis through the capsule, and configured for cooperating with the knives which engage therewith upon closing of the brew chamber. This enables centering of the capsule relative to the central axis of the brew chamber prior to piercing thereof.

摘要: A process for producing a liquid coffee concentrate that has a reduced acrylamide content. The process involves contacting a low aromatic aqueous coffee extract with a selectively-permeable membrane to reduce the acrylamide content of the extract, prior to combining the treated extract with a high aromatic aqueous coffee extract. In particular, the process comprises the steps of: a) providing a low aromatic aqueous coffee extract having a first acrylamide content; b) providing a high aromatic aqueous coffee extract; c) contacting the low aromatic aqueous coffee extract with a selectively-permeable membrane to provide a low aromatic aqueous coffee extract having a second acrylamide content; and d) combining the low aromatic aqueous coffee extract having a second acrylamide content and the high aromatic aqueous coffee extract to provide a liquid coffee concentrate, wherein the second acrylamide content is lower than the first acrylamide content.

摘要: An exchangeable supply pack for a beverage dispensing machine. The pack comprises a doser including a pump assembly comprising a pump channel between an inlet and an outlet, for receiving a fluid from an ingredient container and for pumping it to the outlet. The pump assembly comprises a pump chamber and at least two engaging gears forming a gear pump. At least one of said gears forms a driving gear and comprises a shaft opening for receiving a driving axle of the beverage dispensing machine. The shaft opening coincides with an axle reception opening of a support wall of the pump chamber, and a flexible seal is arranged at least between the driving gear and the support wall. The seal comprises a through opening coinciding with the shaft opening and the axle reception opening for receiving the driving axle.

摘要: The invention relates to a system for preparing a beverage from a capsule using a fluid supplied under pressure into the capsule comprising a beverage preparation device having an enclosing member with an annular element having a free contact end and a capsule containing a substance for the preparation of a beverage. The capsule comprises a sealing member having the shape of a step. i.e. a sudden increase of the diameter of a side wall of the capsule. The sealing member comprises a floor portion extending over an engagement distance and a side wall portion extending in a direction away from the floor portion. The engagement distance of the floor portion is such that the floor portion engages the free contact end of the annular element over its breadth if the capsule is positioned in the enclosing member of the beverage preparation device and the enclosing member is moved relative towards a capsule holder of the beverage preparation device. The floor portion is arranged to be plastically drawn over the free contact end of the annular element if the enclosing member of the beverage preparation device is closed by means of the capsule holder of the beverage preparation device. The invention also relates to a capsule for use in such a system.

The appliance includes a loading channel to receive the exchangeable supply pack. The loading channel has a protruding drive shaft for transmitting torque from the appliance to the supply pack, and an ingredient receiving connector for conveying the ingredient from the supply pack to the appliance. The drive port and outlet port of the supply pack are coupled to the drive shaft and the receiving connector. The drive port includes an opening with a concave tapered inner wall defining a funnel shape and cooperates with the protruding drive shaft to assist in aligning the outlet port with respect to the receiving connector.

摘要: A container contains a beverage base material in a beverage base material chamber defined by a chamber bottom and a chamber wall. The container furthermore comprises an elongated handle extending in a direction having a radial component outward from the chamber. The handle is provided with an outlet channel extending from the chamber to a channel outlet provided at the free end of the handle. A beverage preparation system for preparing a beverage includes an automatic beverage preparation apparatus and such a container and is arranged for removably connecting the container to the apparatus such that the handle is positioned vertically with the channel outlet pointing downwards. A method of preparing a beverage using such a beverage preparation system in which the container is connected to the apparatus such that the handle is positioned vertically with the channel outlet pointing downwards for dispensing a beverage from the beverage base material chamber substantially vertically.

摘要: A system including a capsule is usable for preparing a predetermined quantity of beverage suitable for consumption using an extractable product. The system includes a substantially rigid circumferential wall, a bottom closing the circumferential wall at a first end, and lid of a flexible sheet-shaped perforate and/or porous material closing the circumferential wall at a second, open, end opposite the bottom. The circumferential wall, the bottom and the lid enclose an inner space include the extractable product, and the lid includes an impermeable outer circumferential area and an exit area being enclosed by said impermeable outer circumferential area such that, in use, the prepared beverage is drained from the capsule through the exit area. The invention further relates to a method for preparing said beverage using the above system.
