    摘要: An overhead coiling door which includes a lintel seal interface assembly comprising a mounting bracket and a seal material sandwiched between a top and bottom row of brush bristles. The top row of bristles is shorter than the bottom row which provides relative rigidity to the flexible seal material and maintains greater cycle life. Further described are novel insulating material placement used to seal the building structure—door gaps. In one preferred design, a hinged guide cover has a first leg geometry to engage the structure and a second leg geometry to engage the curtain guide assembly to effectively seal gaps created by various amounts of curtain guide assembly setback.

    摘要: A closure is described. In a preferred embodiment a novel door roller is presented that is more resistant to a dislodgement force. The door roller comprises a bearing that rolls on a piece of round stock that is part of a door guide. When a dislodgement force is imposed on the door, the door bows and the bearing contacts the stock preventing dislodgement of the door roller from its track and allow the door to remain operational.

    摘要: The present invention presents a method to permit emergency egress through an access opening covered by an overhead coiling fire door. Upon receiving an alarm notification from a first detector located on one side of the access opening the door is power closed to a predetermined height and held there for the predetermined time, then power closed to a fully closed position. Upon receiving a second alarm notification from a second detector located on the opposite side of the access opening the door enters into a secondary alarm condition. The door is power closed and awaits notification to initiate a secondary emergency egress sequence. The secondary emergency egress sequence comprises receiving a door opening notification, opening the door, holding the door open for a predetermined time, and reclosing the door. Upon primary power restoration or a return to a non-alarm condition the door returns to its preset open position.

    摘要: An overhead door system featuring independent, unconnected panels is described. Each panel end is operatively carried within a pair of parallel tracks. The weight of the door decreases as the door is lifted and each panel completely disengages from its adjacent panel as it reaches the stacked position. This allows for a linear spring torque to door weight relationship requiring a very small motor compared to existing designs to provide the lifting torque necessary to operate the door.

    摘要: An overhead door having a floating spring adjustment is presented. Tension is applied to a torsion spring while the door is in the open, minimal tension state. One end of the torsion spring is fixed to a spring tension trolley. The trolley translates within a trolley guide mounted to the building structure. The other end of the torsion spring is fixed to a shaft running through the torsion spring. This allows the torsion spring to change in length as the number of coils shrink and grow through door operation thereby eliminating the “snake-like” or serpentine appearance from an improper fixed torsion spring length.
