Abstract:
A card holder comprising a first side and a second side joined together to form a substantially rectangular sleeve containing an open edge for receiving a planar flashlight. The first side of the sleeve contains a first pocket for receiving a card. This first pocket has an indent at the open edge to access the card using one's finger. The first side also contains an activation switch for the planar flashlight light. The second side of the sleeve contains a second pocket that holds a map of a transportation system. In addition, the metro card holder contains a digital clock on the second side. A light pipe or fiber optic strand runs from lighting elements contained in the planar flashlight to the digital clock thereby illuminating the clock.
Abstract:
An antenna device used for portable electronic appliances such as electronic wristwatches furnished with a reception function. Antenna device 100 is bent conforming to the side of watch case 201 and installed on the side of watch case 201. The antenna device is composed of an antenna 110 and an antenna case 150 in which the antenna 110 is housed. The antenna case is made of or coated with a non-metallic material and formed separately from a watch case made of a metallic material. In addition, the antenna case is fixed to watch case 201 with screws 152 at positions apart from the extended line P of antenna core 111.
Abstract:
A method of forming an integral intermediate layer in a flexible single injection molded component is disclosed. According to the method a strip comprising the sandwiched layer is securely positioned within a molding cavity. During injection of the mold material a tensile force is applied throughout the strip in a plane orthogonal to a critical component direction. The method is particularly suited for the fabrication of wrist mounted electronic devices having an electrical connection to a conductive member integrally housed within a molded wristband.
Abstract:
A band base of the wrist band is formed with a cavity for receiving therein a switch member. The band base is formed of elastomer or thermoplastic flexible material and is formed or molded integrally with an internal frame of the watch casing. A band cover is disposed on the band base to cover the cavity thereof. The band cover is molded around its periphery with material comparable to that of the band base by means of a metal mold which has a flow pass covering borders between the band cover and the band base. Further, the internal frame connected to the band base is provided with a holding member for holding and fixing the switch member without engagement to the band base itself such that the switch member can be inserted into the cavity of the band base. Moreover, in order to avoid inadvertent operation of the switch member due to bending of the wrist band, a spacer is disposed around switch contacts of the switch member between the band cover and the switch member so as to maintain a constant spacing therebetween.
Abstract:
The connection arrangement of this invention includes one or several sets of electrical contacts, respectively within the case of an electronic appliance and the bracelet thereof. These contacts are separable by virtue of being associated with elastic latching means. Moreover they are surrounded by a complementary abutment surfaces which protect them from all damaging influence coming from the exterior (in particular that resulting from corrosive substances which may be exuded by the wrist). These surfaces are firmly applied to one another by the latching force of the contacts. The invention may be applied in particular to any timepiece having a bracelet.
Abstract:
An electronic timepiece includes a frequency supply for providing a relatively high frequency time base signal, a frequency converter responsive to the time base signal to provide a relatively low frequency time unit signal, timing signals, and a plurality of word pulses indicative of plurality of data words representing time data concerning the current time, and a set of additional data other than the time data. A primary register is arranged to store the time data and the additional data, and display means displays the time data and the additional data. An external control member is adapted to provide an input signal when actuated, and an indexing signal is generated in response to the input signal. A secondary register is arranged to store a plurality of sets of additional data and is operable to transfer each set of additional data to the primary register in a sequential manner as the first mentioned set of additional data in response to the indexing signal, whereupon each of the sets of additional data is sequentially displayed by the display means.
Abstract:
A lighter with a watch having a watch module interiorly disposed. A lighter case incorporates therein a fuel tank and a watch module and a display of the watch module is visible through a window formed in the side of the lighter case. The lighter is provided with a set button and a select button so as to easily correct reading, the date and hour, and seconds. Further, an ignition operator is utilized to make reading set, thus preventing erroneous operation of selection of the watch module and reading set.
Abstract:
A tape recorder with means for displaying a time by normal and stopwatch modes is provided with a time signal generator, a first time data generator coupled with the time signal generator to produce first time data of normal mode, and a second time data generator coupled with the time signal generator to produce second time data of stopwatch mode. The tape recorder is further provided with a decoder to which the first and second time data are selectively applied and which converts the time data into time data for display, and a display unit for displaying the output of the decoder. A first switch actuated when the tape recorder operates in record and play modes and a second switch for changing a normal mode time display over to a stopwatch mode time display and vice versa are further included in the tape recorder. When the second switch is turned to the normal mode time display, the normal mode time data is displayed by the display unit regardless of the actuation of the first switch. When the second switch is turned to the stopwatch mode time display, the second time data generator is cleared and generates a second time data elapsed from the time point that the first switch is actuated. The second time data generated is displayed by the display unit.
Abstract:
A display such as a liquid crystal display unit, a light emitting diode assembly, or an electroluminescent element is arranged behind a front glass window of a mirror for indicating, for example, current time information or calculator output information. A switching means is provided for controlling the enabling and disabling of the display. The display section forms a part of the mirror when the display is not enabled. In a preferred form, a liquid crystal display unit of the reflection type is attached to the rear surface of the front glass window of the mirror. The reflection film of the liquid crystal display unit functions as a reflection film of the mirror when the display is disabled, thereby forming a continuous mirror assembly even at the display section. That is, there is no distinction between the display region and the normal mirror region.
Abstract:
An electronic wrist watch is provided in which an interior space contacting an electronic module is filled with a module protecting liquid. Means are provided for varying the volume of the interior space in accordance with the expansion or contraction of the liquid.
