摘要： A linkage that provides a fully flat reclined position is described. The linkage includes a full-flat lift link pivotally coupled to a seat support link. A backrest support link couples to the lift link through an oblong aperture to provide additional range of motion. The lift link includes a laterally extending flange, the perimeter of which acts as a cam surface for a cam pin that obstructs reclining of the backrest support link when the rocker-recliner is in an upright position. When fully reclined, the linkage configures a footrest, seat portion, and backrest portion in a generally equal plane to provide a fully flat seating surface.

摘要： A lounge has a foot-operated mechanism for propelling the lounge with a rocking motion. The lounge has a frame with at least one arcuate runner contacting the floor. A user-supporting surface is attached to the frame with portions of the surface adapted to support different body regions of the user, particular the body regions proximate to the user's knees, neck and buttocks. The user-supporting surface may be configured so that the user's buttocks are at a lower elevation than the user's knees and neck. A foot pedal is connected by a linkage assembly to an actuating member that contacts the ground. By pushing against the pedal, the user can impart a rocking motion to the lounge. The lounge may be folded along portions of the frame for compact, convenient storage.

摘要： A reclining chair system operable about different modes. The reclining chair includes a base, an intermediate member, left and right side frames, a support chassis, and a footrest. The intermediate member has opposite left and right sides, and is mounted onto the base so as to be rotatably moveable with respect to the base via a corresponding rotating assembly so as to operate the reclining chair in a rotating mode. The left and right side frames are operatively mounted respectively onto the left and right sides of the intermediate member via a corresponding rocking assembly so as to operate the reclining chair system in a rocking mode. The support chassis extends between the left and right side frames for operatively supporting a seat and a backrest of the reclining chair system. The footrest is operatively mounted onto the support chassis and is operable therealong between retracted and extended positions via a corresponding deployment assembly so as to operate the reclining chair system in a deployed mode, the footrest being further configured to be operated into an elevated position whereby the deployment assembly of the footrest cooperates with the rocking assembly of the intermediate member so as to prevent the reclining chair system from being operated in the rocking mode. Also described are a method of operating the reclining chair system, and a kit for assembling the same.

摘要： A rocking chair comprising a base, a seat assembly including a seat rockably mounted to the base and a backrest mounted to the seat so as to be movable between first and second positions includes a couple of biasing members mounted to the backrest for biasing the backrest towards the first position, and a locking mechanism mounted to both the base and the seat assembly for locking the seat relatively to the base when the backrest is in the first position. The locking mechanism is operated by applying at least a threshold force onto the backrest, which causes the backrest to move between the first and second positions relatively to the seat, unlocking the backrest relatively to the base, and allowing the seat to move relatively to the base. The locking mechanism includes a toothed rack and an arm lever that operatively cooperate in response to a small force exerted on the backrest. The rocking chair is safe for people having hand or forearm disability problem and for people with reduced mobility.

摘要： A reclining chair has a seat structure for supporting a an occupant, a free-standing support assembly for supporting the seat structure, a guided rail system connected to the seat structure and support assembly for allowing an occupant to recline in the seat structure in various positions, and a brake assembly for inhibiting movement of the seat structure. The seat structure includes a frame contoured to comfortably support the occupant. The support assembly includes first and second side members. The guide rail system includes a pair of semi-circular tubular rail members, one rail member connected to opposite sides of the frame, and one or more guide elements mounted to the side members. The frame rotates as the rail members slide through the rail guide brackets, thereby reclining the chair. A preferred brake assembly includes at least one lever actuated brake shoe which engages the rail member, creating sufficient friction to inhibit movement of the rail member through the guide elements, thereby fixing the seat structure and occupant the desired reclining position. An alternate brake assembly inhibits movement of the seat portion through the use of a switch activated linear locking mechanism.

For releasing this locking, the blocking lever is lifted by a blocking actuator arm.
