Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a system and method for presenting navigational directions using a combination of a mobile communication device, such as a cellular phone, and a complementary device, such as a vehicular navigational or display device. In particular, using location information acquired by the mobile communication device, driving direction is obtained (such as from a server) and displayed to a user via the complementary device. The mobile communication device and the complementary device maybe connected to each other over a wired connection or a wireless connection.
Abstract:
Subscriber calls in a communications network (10) are handled in accordance with the subscriber's routing plan for either originating and/or terminating calls irrespective of the manner in which such calls originate and terminate. Upon receipt of a call, a query is launched to a database (36) to obtain a called party routing number for the call destination in accordance with the subscriber's routing plan. Once the called party's routing number is obtained in response to the query, the called party's routing number is mapped a to physical port in the network when the routing number corresponds to a circuit-switched call destination or to an IP address when the called party's routing number corresponds to a packet-based call destination. The call is routed to the call destination in accordance with the mapping.
Abstract:
A telephone system that has the ability to provide a caller with additional information (beyond a busy signal or a ring tone) concerning the called party when the called party's line is busy: The called party can control the amount and type of additional information provided to the calling party. In one embodiment, when the called party is notified that someone is trying to place a call (by a mechanism such as by conventional caller ID) the called party has the option of providing the calling party with a variety of different information, such as whether or not the called party is on a conference call and the number (and name if available) of the party to whom the called party is speaking.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided in which teleconference calls are scheduled in advance and, at an appropriate predetermined time, calls are automatically made to the designated participants of the conference calls thereby avoiding the need for the participants to call into a teleconference center. In a preferred embodiment, when teconferences are scheduled, the telecon participants are designated and their phone numbers are input or otherwise determined, for example, through access to a centralized database. A calendar is monitored and at a predetermined time relative to the scheduled start of the telecon, a server system application initiates the calling of the participants for connection to the telecon. The system may be configured to require participants to enter a password before the connection is completed. The status of the called participants is determined and displayed on individual display devices of the other participants in the telecon. In one example, designated participants are called back at selected intervals if the initial automated call is unanswered.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method of generating and transmitting a ring back tone and a system thereof. The method of generating a ring back tone in a first terminal based on an internet protocol comprises identifying a type of a network to which a second terminal requesting a call setup belongs, generating ring back tone data to be transmitted to the second terminal according to the type of the network, inserting the ring back tone data into a response message to the call setup, and transmitting the inserted response message to the second terminal.
Abstract:
A communication assistance system has a first database haying a plurality of listings therein, each having at least one contact name and a corresponding contact number. A device is configured to receive a directory assistance communication from a device of a user requesting at least one listing. A past requested listing table for at least one of said users is configured to store prior requested listings obtained from the database, as previously requested by the user. The past requested listing table is generated by the system and transmitted for storage on the device of the user so that when the user contacts the system, with the at least one listing stored on the past requested listing table being masked, the system may allow a communication connection between the device and the listing on the past requested listing table
Abstract:
Embodiments provide a system, methods, apparatus, means, and computer program code for providing information regarding an identity's media channel availability.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for personalized calling party number determination and identification. The apparatus includes an interface for receiving a calling party number corresponding to a calling party, a memory for storing an alpha tag corresponding to the calling party number, and a processor coupled to the interface. The processor includes instructions to determine a character indicating presence of a character string including a unique identifier portion, a classification portion, and a calling party portion. The processor correlates the alpha tag to the calling party upon matching the calling party portion of the character string to the calling party number stored in the memory. The method of personalized calling party number determination and identification can occur for incoming or outgoing call messages relative to the communications network including the apparatus.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method for controlling display of user number in the conference service notification message which is applied in IP multimedia subsystem, and the method comprises the following steps of: before sending the conference service notification message to the user equipment UE_A who subscribes the conference events in the conference, the conference service server determining whether the number information of other user equipments participating in or withdrawing from the conference is displayed in said conference service notification message sent to the said UE_A according to the UE_A's authority value and the expectation values of the other user equipments participating in or withdrawing from the conference, the user expectation values indicate whether the users are willing to display their number information to other conference users, and said authority value indicates whether the user has the authority to receive the number information of other users.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a one to multi communication method wherein each terminal participating in group communication can grasp the states of the other terminals, a communication system, and a communication terminal used for the same. Each terminal acquires information concerning its own state (for example the reception sensitivity of a signal from a base station) and transmits it via a communication management apparatus to the other communication terminals. Further, information concerning the states of the other communication terminals is displayed on a display part provided in each communication terminal. Due to this, each communication terminal can grasp correctly of the information concerning the states of the other communication terminals, therefore it becomes possible to judge whether or not the other communication terminals are in states where normal conversation is possible, and occurrence of a difference in recognition among users in the one to multi communication can be prevented.
