摘要： A paperboard sleeve (10) for wrapping a plurality of brick-shaped containers (11) is disclosed. The sleeve has two opposed and interlocking base panels (21, 22) with flaps (32) formed as a part thereof, the flaps being sized and shaped to be folded back against protruding base tucks (13) formed on the bases of the containers. The engagement of the flaps against the base tucks on the bottom of the containers prevents the movement of the containers through the open ends of the paperboard sleeve after it is formed about the containers.

摘要： A package for a battery or other article, comprising a sheet of material bent or folded along a plurality of substantially parallel fold lines 21, 22, 25, 26 to define an upwardly extending substantially flat panel region 15, an upper end locating region 11 extending forwardly from the lower extremity of the said panel region, a first limb 3 extending obliquely downwardly and rearwardly from the forward extremity of the end locating region, a second limb 5 extending obliquely forwardly and downwardly and defining with the first limb a V-section channel region, a lower end locating region 13 extending rearwardly from the lower limb, and a rear panel region 17 extending upwardly from the rear extremity of the lower end locating region and secured to the first mentioned panel region 15. The limbs have aligned openings 7 shaped to fit closely about at least the forward circumference of said article, with the rear portion of said article positively located by said openings and/or by the said rear panel region and/or by material of said sheet at the juncture of said limbs. The sheet is initially set with a small angle between the limbs to facilitate insertion of the battery, then the angle between the limbs is increased so that the edges of the openings 7 press against the front of the battery.

The first end panel includes at least one retainer flap struck from the panel which is joined to the panel along a fold line. The second end panel is configured to overlap the first end panel and includes at least one male supporting tab comprising a neck and at least one shoulder, the male tab being joined to the second end panel at a fold line. The male supporting tab is configured to extend through the opening in the first panel from which the retaining flap is struck and engage with the first panel to support the retaining flap within the carrier sleeve thereby forming a three-dimensional protuberance within the sleeve that serves to limit movement of an article in the sleeve towards an open end of the sleeve.

A fold-line subdivides each gusset into a first portion and a second portion and the gusset is folded aong the fold-line to position the second portion of the gusset against the side pnel with the first portion of the gusset extending across a part of the open end of the sleeve for retaining articles in the carton.
