Abstract: A wireless device (12) is configured to transmit a signal simultaneously from a group (104) of physical antenna ports (106), based on associating disjoint frequency sub-bands with respective ones of the physical antenna ports (106). The frequency sub-bands collectively span a frequency bandwidth and each physical antenna port (106) supports transmission over the frequency bandwidth and has a per-port transmit power associated therewith. The wireless device (12) is configured to transmit the signal further based on allocating the per-port transmit power of each physical antenna port (106) in the group (104) only to frequency elements of the signal that fall within the frequency sub-band associated with the physical antenna port (106). A radio network node (10) in a network (16) is configured to perform channel estimation based on receiving a reference signal from the wireless device (12) and its channel estimation accounts for channel changes that may appear at the border between two frequency sub-bands.

Abstract: A method of identifying reference signal resources to be used in a transmission by a wireless device is disclosed. The method comprises a wireless device receiving signaling configuring the wireless device with a plurality of reference signal resource groups, each group comprising a plurality of reference signal resources. The wireless device subsequently receives an indication, in a control channel, of a selection of reference signal resources to be used. Each of the plurality of reference signal resources to be used is selected from a different one of the plurality of reference signal resource groups such that reference signal resources belonging to the same reference signal resource group are not selected for simultaneous use. A reference signal is then transmitted to a network node in the network using the indicated selection of reference signal resources.

Abstract: There is provided mechanisms for obtaining channel conditions per antenna element of an antenna array comprising N antenna elements. The antenna array is configured for communications using orthogonal sub-carriers. A method is performed by a radio transceiver device. The method comprises obtaining channel conditions of a radio propagation channel per sub-carrier for signals received on the sub-carriers by the antenna array. A set of receiving entities are associated with the sub-carriers in an interleaved manner such that each receiving entity is interleaved over a respective disjoint subset of sub-carriers. The method comprises transforming the channel conditions at least for those sub-carriers located within a coherence bandwidth of the radio propagation channel to channel conditions for the N antenna elements by using a relation that maps the receiving entities to the N antenna elements.

Abstract: A method of transmitting an uplink transmission by a wireless device is disclosed. The method comprises a wireless device receiving signaling configuring the wireless device with a plurality of Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) resources. The wireless device subsequently receives an indication, in a physical layer downlink control channel, of a selected plurality of SRS resources selected from among the plurality of configured SRS resources and transmits a plurality of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layers of a PUSCH transmission. The selected plurality of SRS resources map to respective ones of the plurality of MIMO layers and the indication of the selected plurality of SRS resources includes SRS resource indexes with a fixed order that corresponds to an order in which the SRS resources of the selected plurality of SRS resources are mapped to the MIMO layers.
