    摘要: The present invention relates to novel compounds and their use in fragrance compositions. Novel hexahydro ethanochromene and related hexahydro ethanochromane compounds of the present invention are represented by formula: wherein R1 is hydrogen or methyl; R2 and R2′ are identical and are hydrogen or methyl; R3 and R3′ are identical and are hydrogen or methyl; R4 and R5 are independently hydrogen or methyl; R6 is methyl, ethyl, or isopropyl, with the proviso that when R1 is H, R2 and R3′ form an alkylene bridge containing 1 or 2 carbon atoms, and wherein the broken line represents a single or double bond.

Also described are novel compositions useful in carrying out the aforementioned process.

    摘要: Described is a method of repelling Musca domestica L.(Diptera:Muscidae), Aedes aegypti, Culex nigripalpus, Aedes atlanticus, Culex salinarius, Aedes vexans, Culex spp., Simulium spp., Psoroferia ferox, Aedes infirmatus, Drosophila melanogaster, Coccinellidae, Anopheles crucians, Psoroferia columbiae, Culicoides spp., and Aedes spp. for a finite period of time consisting essentially of the step of exposing a three-dimensional space to an effective repelling concentration and quantity of geraniol or a geraniol precursor-containing composition consisting essentially of 50-100% geraniol or a geraniol precursor (e.g., geranyloxy-1,3,2-dioxaborinane, digeranyloxydimethylsilane and geranyl glycosides, for example, geranyl 6-O-(alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl)-beta-D-glucopyranoside) with the remainder of the composition (if indeed the composition is not 100% geraniol) being a compound selected from the group consisting of citronellol and nerol. The above-stated repellents are described to be useful as such or contained in a polymer which can be a biodegradable polymer such as compositions containing a major proportion of poly(epsilon caprolactone) homopolymers.

    摘要: Described is a process for producing cooked browned baked goods including the steps of:(a) providing a particulate flowable flavoring powder which contains individually discretly encapsulated Maillard reaction reagents with the reaction reagents being at least one encapsulated amino acid and at least one encapsulated sugar;(b) providing an uncooked baked goods foodstuff, e.g., dough;(c) coating the composition of (a) onto the surface of the uncooked foodstuff; and(d) exposing the flavoring powder coated foodstuff surface to microwave radiation for a period of time to cause the foodstuff to be edible and to be brownedwhereby the resulting product is caused to be edible as a foodstuff and the baked goods is edibly browned. Optionally, the particulate flowable flavoring powder may be in the form of a slurry with a solvent composition which is capable of raising the dielectric constant of the foodstuff to be cooked whereby the foodstuff to be cooked is completely cooked and edibly browned for a period of time under 600 seconds.
