    Abstract: Video coding using tiling may include encoding a current frame by identifying a tile-width for encoding a current tile of the current frame, the tile-width indicating a cardinality of horizontally adjacent blocks in the current tile, identifying a tile-height for encoding the current tile of the current frame, the tile-height indicating a cardinality of vertically adjacent block in the current tile, and generating an encoded tile by encoding the current tile, such that a row of the current tile includes tile-width horizontally adjacent blocks from the plurality of blocks, and a column of the current tile includes tile-height vertically adjacent blocks from the plurality of blocks. Encoding the current frame may include outputting the encoded tile, wherein outputting the encoded tile includes including an encoded-tile size in an output bitstream, the encoded-tile size indicating a cardinality of bytes for including the encoded tile in the output bitstream.

    Abstract: Methods and devices for a parallel multi-processor encoder system for encoding video data. The video data comprises a sequence of frames, wherein each frame comprises a plurality of blocks of pixels in sequential rows. For each frame, the system divides the plurality of blocks into a plurality of subsets of blocks, wherein each subset of blocks is allocated to a respective processor of the parallel multi-processor system. Each respective processor of the parallel multi-processor system may sequentially encode rows of the subset of blocks allocated to the respective processor and sequentially transmit each encoded row of blocks as a bit stream to a decoder on a channel. For each row, the respective encoded row of blocks is transmitted to the decoder for each processor prior to transmission of the next sequential respective encoded row of blocks for any processor. Additionally, a similar parallel multi-processor decoder system is described.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods, apparatuses, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium for point cloud coding. In a method, when parallel octree coding is enabled for occupancy codes of nodes in an octree partitioning structure of the point cloud, syntax information of the point cloud is decoded from a coded bitstream and a bitstream offset of an octree depth is determined. The syntax information indicates a bitstream length of the octree depth at which the parallel octree coding is enabled. Parallel decoding is performed on the occupancy codes of the nodes of the octree depth based on the bitstream offset and the bitstream length of the octree depth. Further, the point cloud is reconstructed based on the occupancy codes of the nodes.
