Abstract: An electronic device includes a display and one or more processors operable with the display and a calendaring application. The one or more processors detect a mismatch in starting or ending times occurring between a calendaring event notification and an agenda associated with the calendaring event notification, and present a prompt upon the display identifying the mismatch when the mismatch is detected. The prompt can include at least one remediating option for correcting the mismatch.

Abstract: A display device (100) includes a receiving section (12), a registering section (2112), a display section (11), an identifying section (2111), and a changing section (212). The receiving section (12) receives selection of a label from a user. The registering section (2112) registers the label and a format set in association with each other. The format set includes format items to be embodied in a character display format and format contents each indicating a content of a corresponding one of the format items. The display section (11) displays a character string including a first character. The identifying section (211) identifies the first character. The changing section (212) changes the character display format of the first character based on the format set associated with the label.

Abstract: In implementations of systems for simultaneously modifying multiple variable fonts, a computing device implements a modification system to identify a first range of values of a glyph attribute that are adjustable by changing values of a particular design axis of a first variable font that is common to the first variable font and a second variable font. The modification system identifies a second range of values of the glyph attribute that are adjustable by changing values of the particular design axis of the second variable font. An overlapping range of values of the glyph attribute is determined between the first range of values and the second range of values. The modification system generates an additional instance of the first variable font and an additional instance of the second variable font for display in a user interface based on the overlapping range of values of the glyph attribute.

Abstract: Automatic font synthesis for modifying a local font to have an appearance that is visually similar to a source font is described. A font modification system receives an electronic document including the source font together with an indication of a font descriptor for the source font. The font descriptor includes information describing various font attributes for the source font, which define a visual appearance of the source font. Using the source font descriptor, the font modification system identifies a local font that is visually similar in appearance to the source font by comparing local font descriptors to the source font descriptor. A visually similar font is then synthesized by modifying glyph outlines of the local font to achieve the visual appearance defined by the source font descriptor. The synthesized font is then used to replace the source font and output in the electronic document at the computing device.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for providing a dynamic typesetting package. The method receives a request from a user for a typesetting package, and the typesetting package includes one or more font, and one or more rendering rules for defining typesetting for various elements of content across layout contexts. In response to a requested typesetting package, the method provides a link to the user. The link references the requested typesetting package. The method matches at least a portion of the elements of the content to one or more parameters in the one or more rendering rules. The one or more rendering rules, in response to an execution by a computerized device having a display, the content is dynamically typeset for the display.

Abstract: Automatic positioning of textual content within digital images is leveraged in a digital medium environment. Initially, user input is received to add textual content to a digital image. The digital image can then be processed to identify at least one object in the digital image using an image segmentation model. A placement region for the textual content that does not overlap the at least one object can be automatically determined. After the placement region is automatically determined, the digital image can be modified by positioning the textual content within the automatically determined placement region of the digital image. Positioning the textual content may include automatically adjusting the textual content to fit within the placement region, such as by automatically scaling or aligning the textual content.

Abstract: A method for marking text in digital typography includes identifying one or more glyphs that intersect or overlap with a text marking bounding box, drawing a modified text marking to avoid intersecting with the one or more glyphs, and causing a display device to display the modified text marking with the text. The text marking is associated with a line of text including the glyphs or adjacent to a waxline of text including the glyphs. For each of the glyphs, the glyph corresponding to the glyph bounding box intersecting with the text marking is indicated. The modified text marking is drawn based on outlines of the glyphs, intersections between a text marking bounding box and the glyph outlines, and a user-specified glyph offset, text marking weight, and/or text marking offset to avoid intersecting with the glyphs. The shape of the modified text marking avoids intersecting with or overlapping the glyph.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing data loss protection of sensitive information during display on a secondary display separate from a display of a computing device. An example methodology implementing the techniques includes identifying sensitive information within content displayable with use of a display of a computing device and adding metadata to the sensitive information, the metadata to cause a change in an appearance of the content before display of that content on a secondary display, the secondary display being separate from the display of the computing device. The method also includes, responsive to a determination to display the content on the secondary display, modifying the content based on the added metadata so that sensitive information is hidden from view while the content is shown on the secondary display and providing on the secondary display the modified content so as to prevent the sensitive information from being viewable by users.

Abstract: Near-to-eye displays support a range of applications from helping users with low vision through augmenting a real world view to displaying virtual environments. The images displayed may contain text to be read by the user. It would be beneficial to provide users with text enhancements to improve its readability and legibility, as measured through improved reading speed and/or comprehension. Such enhancements can provide benefits to both visually impaired and non-visually impaired users where legibility may be reduced by external factors as well as by visual dysfunction(s) of the user. Methodologies and system enhancements that augment text to be viewed by an individual, whatever the source of the image, are provided in order to aid the individual in poor viewing conditions and/or to overcome physiological or psychological visual defects affecting the individual or to simply improve the quality of the reading experience for the user.

Abstract: A display processing method is provided, comprising: displaying, by an electronic device, a first display object and a second display object on a first screen based on a first positional relationship; in response to determining that a length of a to-be-displayed character string corresponding to the first display object is greater than a first width of the first display object on the first screen, stopping displaying the first screen; and displaying the first display object and the second display object on a second screen, where the first display object and the second display object on the second screen have a second positional relationship, the second positional relationship is different from the first positional relationship, and a second width of the first display object corresponding to the second positional relationship is greater than the first width.
