Abstract: The present invention relates, according to a first aspect, to a tool for cutting in half a carcass of a slaughtered animal, preferably of a bovine animal, in a fully automated manner. The cutting tool of the present invention incorporates in the cutting tool itself two different guiding mechanisms: an inner follower mechanism of the carcass capable of following the inner side of the carcass during the cutting process, and an outer follower mechanism of the carcass capable of following the outer side of the carcass during the cutting process, which substantially improve the accuracy of the cutting process and eliminate any type of manual action when cutting or guiding the part.
It also relates, according to a second aspect, to a robot comprising said cutting tool.-

Abstract: An animal carcass hanging device includes a base having an upper surface, a projection connected at one end with the base upper surface, and a connection device connected with a second end of the projection. When the device is inserted into a central cavity of an animal carcass, the projection extends through a carcass upper end opening so that the base is in contact with a wall of the cavity. The connection device is then connected with a structure and the carcass is hung from its front quarter.

Abstract: A method for slicing meat loafs that have a cross section that varies across their longitudinal extension into accurately weighted slices, that includes the steps of bringing the loaf into a defined shape with a uniform cross section across its length inside a forming tube by pressing the loaf before it is sliced. The pressing is performed in a longitudinal direction and a transversal direction relative to the loaf in a predefined order and in particular in multiple pressing steps. The pressing may also comprise pressure relieving strokes for the purpose of reducing the force exertion for pressing, and for keeping the tissue structure of the loaf intact.
