    摘要: Novel oligomeric quinolinium salts are disclosed. These are formed by reacting quinoline oligomers with alkylating agents such as benzyl halide, p-.alpha.-xylenyl dihalide and alkyl sulfates. The novel oligomeric quinolinium salts are useful as metal corrosion inhibitors, and especially as aqueous acid corrosion inhibitors. The novel compounds are represented by the formulae: ##STR1## wherein n and m are integers, with n being greater than 2 and up to about 200 and m being equal to or greater than 1, R is H or an alkyl group having from 1 to about 20 carbon atoms, R.sup.1 is an alkyl group having 1 to about 20 carbon atoms, X.sup.- is a chloride, bromide or iodide and Z.sup.- is an anion selected from BF.sub.4.sup.-, SO.sub.4.sup.=, ClO.sub.4.sup.-, PF.sub.6.sup.- and HSO.sub.4.sup.-.

    摘要: An aromatic and/or heterocyclic polyamide-amide type polar solvent composition is prepared by prepolymerizing an aromatic or heterocyclic diamine with an aromatic or heterocyclic or heterocyclic dicarboxylic acid chloride in a smaller molar equivalent than that of the diamine to prepare a prepolymer solution having a solution viscosity of 20 poise or less; by removing a by-product, hydrochloric acid, from the resultant prepolymer solution by neutralizing it with ammonia to such an extent that the pH of a mixture of 10 g of the neutralized mixture with 200 ml of water becomes 3.7 to 8.0; by high polymerizing the prepolymer with an additional amount of aromatic or heterocyclic dicarboxylic acid chloride, and; finally, by converting the entire amount of hydrochloric acid and 10 to 70% NH.sub.4 Cl in the resultant polyamide solution into an amide type polar solvent-soluble salt, with a neutralizing agent, the amount of the salt being in a range of from 5 to 95% by weight of the theoretical amount of the salt to be derived from the entire amount of the dicarboxylic acid chloride.

    摘要: Membranes which are useful in ultrafiltration processes are prepared by casting films from solutions of heteroaromatic polymers and subsequently quenching these films into solvents which cause gelation of the polymers. Examples of polymers employed in the preparation of microporous membranes are: poly-as-triazines, polyquinoxalines, poly (pyrazinoquinoxalines), polyquinolines and poly (anthrazolines). Membrane properties such as solvent flux, specific water content and pore size are readily controlled by proper choice of polymer concentration, solvents, and the addition of nonsolvents, salts and/or surfactants to the casting solutions.

    摘要: Polymers containing recurring quinoline or anthrazoline groups which are reaction products of aromatic amino carbonyl compounds containing two sets of ortho-amino aldehyde or ortho-amino ketone functions attached to the aromatic nucleus having the general structure: ##STR1## (wherein R is hydrogen, or aryl and the Ar's are aryl groups) with methylene ketones containing two ketone functions having a methylene group adjacent to each ketone and having the general structure: ##STR2## (wherein R = hydrogen or aryl and R' = aryl and the Ar's are aryl groups) are described. According to the above, R from both the aromatic amino carbonyl and the aromatic methylene ketone could be hydrogen when producing a polymer, but the polymer in which both R's are hydrogen is excluded from this invention.
