Abstract:
A controlled image including a predetermined graphic symbol, for example a signature on a check or other document, is produced in a web-based imaging environment. From a client program, for example a user's browser, a source service is accessed and dynamically generates under interactive control of the client program a printable version of the controlled image including the predetermined graphic symbol, which references a particular symbol set, for example a font. The printable version is referenced from a composition associated with a user's identity, e.g., an imaging store. A destination service representing a production device is accessed from the client program and then retrieves the printable version. Only if the destination service contains the particular symbol set will the controlled image be produced including the signature or other predetermined graphic symbol. Otherwise the image can be optionally produced including a substitute symbol, e.g., “VOID.”
Abstract:
A method, program product and system for integrating user specific output options into an upload for a network service, the method comprising: obtaining information regarding user specific output options from an source that is not a part of the network service; and, incorporating the user specific output options into user interface data to be uploaded from a network service to a network service agent of the user. Another embodiment provides an implementation at the client side.
Abstract:
A bidding service may be used to receive bid information to complete a job request, from processors coupled to a job ticket service center. The processors submit bids in response to posting of job ticket notices at the service center. A work flow controller may post the job ticket notices after receipt of the job request. The job ticket notice may include specific tasks or branches that must be completed to complete the job request. The job ticket notice may include descriptions of specific branches and their interrelationships in sufficient detail to allow the processors to bid for completion of the branches. The bidding service may select bids from the processors based on set criteria. For example, the job request may specify minimum performance requirements (e.g., a maximum cost and a completion deadline). The bidding service may reject any bids that fail to satisfy the minimum performance requirements. Where the work flow controller has established multiple branches, each such branch may include minimum performance requirements. The branch-specific performance requirements may be established by the work flow controller based on overall performance requirements for the job ticket.
Abstract:
A system and method for authorizing electronic messages is provided. One embodiment of the system includes message receiving logic that determines whether a received message comes from an authorized sender based on a pre-assigned token. In another embodiment, a message transmission logic configures a message with a pre-assigned token for transmission to a destination address. The present system and method allows for improved control of electronic messages.
Abstract:
A system for remote installation of software is utilized to install peripheral software associated with a device driver during the installation of the device driver for a selected peripheral. In particular, a user installs a device driver for the selected peripheral installed from a remote computer. As part of the installation process, the device driver is configured to self-initialize and invoke an initialization entry point. The initialization entry point may be configured to point to a driver initialization description file which is read by the device driver. The initialization description file includes a name of the peripheral software and an installation method for the peripheral software. This information is utilized by the device driver to install the peripheral software according to the listed installation method.
Abstract:
Printer drivers in printer clients which have internal clocks take time/date data from the clock of the printer client and append that data to each transmission of a print job to a connected printer. The printer's processor extracts that time/date data from the print job transmission and uses that time or automatically set or adjust the time kept by a clock circuit internal to the printer. In this way, the printer's clock circuit consistently provides accurate time/date data that can be used to more efficiently manage the operation of the printer.
Abstract:
A method of apprising a user of print job status includes assessing what portion of a print job has been processed, displaying a status of the print job reflecting the portion of the print job that has been processed, iterating assessing and displaying until assessing determines that the print job has been entirely processed and terminating the print job when assessing determines that the print job has been entirely processed.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for generating a print job from a device driver interface command stream (command stream) is described. The command stream describes multiple collated copies of a document but is in an undifferentiated form. The print job that is generated includes print data that describes only a single copy of the document and a command that indicates the number of printed copies that are to be printed.
