Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques provide for reliable signal processing and amplification of downlink signals. A network entity may apply a digital pre-distortion (DPD) process to a signal for transmission to a user equipment (UE) and may apply a crest factor reduction (CFR) process to the output of the DPD process. The output of the CFR process may be amplified by a power amplifier and transmitted via a downlink transmission to the UE. The CFR process limits the peak power of the signal provided to the power amplifier (e.g., to a configured level), thereby reducing the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the signal provided to the power amplifier. The DPD process may compensate for non-linearities of the power amplifier. A training procedure for the DPD process may account for the CFR process applied after the DPD process.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive data encoded based on a multi-level balanced code, codewords of the multi-level balanced code being selected based on a finite number of multiple sum values, corresponding to all constellation symbol sequences in the multi-level balanced code. The UE may receive a superimposed pilot (SIP) using communication resources occupied by the data. The UE may estimate one or more channel parameters based on the SIP and the multi-level balanced code. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control signal allocating downlink resources and uplink resources, where the uplink resources puncture the downlink resources and are allocated for transmitting feedback control information. The UE may generate an uplink signal containing the feedback control information and one or more cancelation tones for canceling interference between a downlink signal and the uplink signal in accordance with a timing advance value. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may generate an uplink signal including the feedback control information, where the uplink signal contains uplink symbols and cyclic extensions appended to the uplink symbols, and the cyclic extensions may be based on the timing advance value. The UE may transmit, while receiving downlink data on the downlink resources, the uplink signal including the feedback control information using the set of uplink resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a wireless communications system, a user equipment (UE) may be configured to use intra-message antenna selection diversity (ASD). The UE may transmit a first portion of a scheduled message within a time interval using a first antenna element of the UE based on an intra-message antenna diversity configuration. The intra-message antenna diversity configuration may indicate a set of antennas available for transmission of the scheduled message. In some cases, the UE may transmit, within the same time interval, at least a portion of the scheduled message using at least a second antenna element of the UE that is different from the first antenna element. In some cases, a receiving UE may decode the first portion and the second portion of the scheduled message based on the intra-message antenna diversity configuration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network entity may determine a number of resources for next transmissions following a first transmission. For example, a user equipment (UE) may calculate an average mutual information (MI) of a single log likelihood ratio (LLR) and an MI for each code block. The UE may transmit feedback indicating a quantity of resources to achieve a target MI based on the calculated averages. A wireless device may monitor a feedback buffer utilization associated with the UE. A network entity may retransmit existing code blocks or output a transmission using repetition based on the monitoring and utilization thresholds. The network entity may indicate to the UE a latency level code block attribute and increase a quantity of resources for following retransmissions by a boosting factor based on the latency level and a threshold.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques support blind common phase error (CPE) and residual carrier frequency offset mitigation. Generally, the described techniques provide for blind CPE mitigation at a receiving device without a phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) associated with less overhead and improved performance as compared to use of a PTRS to mitigate CPE. A receiving device may receive a shared channel message in a scheduled shared channel allocation in accordance with a PTRS configuration that omits a PTRS allocation based on a capability of the receiving device to apply blind CPE mitigation for shared channel receptions. In some examples, with a single DMRS symbol allocation, blind CPE mitigation for each subsequent data symbol of a shared channel message may be based on the blind CPE estimation for the previous symbol, which may enable robust mitigation of a residual carrier frequency offset.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may receive control signaling indicating a downlink reference signal configuration, for example, a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) configuration. The communication device may receive a downlink reference signal (e.g., a DMRS) over a downlink control channel (e.g., a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH)) during an initial symbol duration of a transmission time interval (TTI). The downlink reference signal may include a set of bits including a first subset of bits including network temporary identifier bits and a second subset of bits including constellation bits associated with a downlink data channel (e.g., a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH)). The communication device may process the downlink reference signal (e.g., a DMRS) based on the downlink reference signal configuration (e.g., a DMRS configuration).
