    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to communications in a network that supports data transmitted in an unlicensed frequency band and a licensed frequency band are provided. A first wireless communication device transmits in a first frequency band, a first system information signal indicating a first random access configuration for a second frequency band. The first wireless communication device transmits in a third frequency band, a second system information signal indicating a second random access configuration for the second frequency band. The first and third frequency bands are different frequency bands. Additionally, the first wireless communication device performs with a second wireless communication device, a random access procedure based on at least one of the first random access configuration or the second random access configuration.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a set of synchronization signal block (SSB) configurations for a corresponding set of frequency resource sets configured for communications in a shared frequency spectrum band. The UE may perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure for each frequency resource set. If an LBT procedure is successful, the UE may select and communicate with a base station on the corresponding frequency resource sets. Accordingly, the UE may receive one or more SSBs from the base station on the selected frequency resource sets based on SSB configurations, which may indicate a floating or fixed configuration for SSBs. The UE may perform radio resource management (RRM) and radio link monitoring based on receiving the SSBs in one or more of the selected frequency resource sets according to the corresponding SSB configurations.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for refinement of receive beam beamforming parameters at a user equipment (UE). A UE may transmit two or more signals in an uplink transmission that have different beamforming parameters. A base station receiving the uplink transmission may measure the two or more signals, and identify a first signal of the two or more signals based at least in part on the measuring. The base station may inform the UE of the identified first signal, which the UE may use to set receive beam beamforming parameters for one or more subsequent downlink transmissions.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) and base station may communicate using narrow band internet of things (NB-IoT) techniques or enhanced machine type communication (eMTC) in unlicensed spectrum. The UE may be an eMTC device or another device capable of communication without user direction. The UE may identify a geographic region and select a communication mode that is consistent with regulatory restrictions in that region. For example, in some cases, the communication mode may be based on using time division duplexing (TDD), using frequency hopping, or performing a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure at the base station. A frame structure for TDD may include LBT subframes, uplink portions, downlink portions, and special subframes for switching. The base station may perform LBT procedures in the LBT subframes. If frequency hopping is enabled, a configurable number of TDD frames may be grouped into a hopping frame block.
