Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) configuration for a periodic reporting of a joint DMRS and channel state feedback (CSF) report to a base station based on a channel state information (CSI) reference resource and related definitions and assumptions. The UE may identify a CSI reference resource slot for dynamically determining one or more parameters associated with the DMRS configuration. The UE may calculate the one or more components of the CSF report based on the DMRS configuration and may transmit the components to the base station in the CSF report or the joint DMRS and CSF report if additional indication of the recommended DMRS configuration is included in the report based on a report configuration.

The CSI request field may further be associated with positioning-related information including at least one PRS configuration, at least one positioning measurement request, at least one location reporting request, or a combination thereof. The UE may perform the positioning-related action(s) based on the positioning-related information.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a UE transmits, at a first time during a measurement window for positioning purposes, a first uplink reference signal in accordance with a first timing adjustment parameter, wherein the first time is offset from a downlink frame time of a base station by an amount of the first timing adjustment parameter, determines whether to use a second timing adjustment parameter, transmits, in response to the determination to use the second timing adjustment parameter, at a second time during the measurement window, a second uplink reference signal in accordance with a second timing adjustment parameter, wherein the second time is offset from the downlink frame time of the base station by an amount of the second timing adjustment parameter, and transmits a report indicating that the second timing adjustment parameter has been applied to at least the second uplink reference signal.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) uses downlink positioning reference signals (PRS) beams for position measurements. The PRS beams may be transmitted using beamforming and transmitted in a beam-sweeping manner. The UE receives assistance data that includes PRS configuration information including the azimuth and elevation angles and beam width information for each PRS beam. The beam width information may include the beam width, bore sight direction uncertainty, beam width uncertainty, and side lobe/back lobe beam information. The UE may select or adapt the receive (Rx) antennas based on the beam width information to reduce power consumption, for example, by reducing the number of Rx antennas used to receive wide PRS beams, and selecting a larger number of Rx antennas when the PRS beams are narrow.
