    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for advertising operating channels that are being operated in an unlicensed frequency band. One or more access points (APs) may transmit discovery information on a dedicated discovery channel for the unlicensed frequency band. The discovery information may indicate at least one operating channel that is being used by an AP for providing wireless access. The discovery information also may include other information useful for a station (STA) to discover APs, operating channels, and operating parameters. The STA may monitor the dedicated discovery channel to obtain the discovery information without conducting an active scanning or passive scanning procedure.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitter device may determine an adapted codebook for beamforming transmission based at least in part on an initial codebook and one or more spatial parameters, wherein the adapted codebook is associated with an adapted set of candidate beams with an adapted angular range that is different than an initial angular range of an initial set of candidate beams of the initial codebook. In some aspects, the transmitter device may transmit using at least one beam of the adapted set of candidate beams associated with the adapted angular range based at least in part on determining the adapted codebook.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for dynamic updates to beam failure detection (BFD) reference signals (RSs) and path loss RS using medium access control-control element (MAC-CE) or downlink control information (DCI). For example, the quasi co-location (QCL) of periodic CSI-RS may be dynamically updated by the MAC-CE or DCI when the periodic CSI-RS is for BFD RS. Also, a semi-persistent CSI-RS or aperiodic CSI-RS may act as a BFD RS. An enhanced update procedure may be used to update the path loss RS dynamically using MAC-CE or DCI. In some cases, the path loss RS parameters updated via MAC-CE or DCI may overwrite the previously RRC configured path loss RS parameters. In another example, if the path loss RS is not configured, then the path loss RS by default may be the spatial relation reference signal of the corresponding uplink beam.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify an active transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state, a set of active TCI states, and/or a spatial relation reference signal identifier to be used for one or more component carriers (CCs) of a UE. The base station may then transmit a control message to the UE that may indicate the identified active TCI state, set of active TCI states, and/or spatial relation reference signal identifier to be used for one or more CCs and/or bandwidth parts of the UE. The UE may determine a communication configuration for a CC of the plurality of CC based on the control message and an optional shared command indication. The UE may the apply the TCI state or set of active TCI states to a subset of CCs, or UE may configure sounding reference signals for a subset of CCs.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a first base station using a first antenna array of a set of antenna arrays of the UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication that the UE is to use a second antenna array of the set of antenna arrays to transmit a random access signal. The UE may transmit, to the first base station or a second base station, the random access signal using the second antenna array based on the received indication. The UE may transmit the random access signal to the first base station as part of determining an updated timing advance (TA) value for the second antenna array. The UE may transmit the random access signal to the second base station as a part of initial access or handover.

The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support beam preference feedback for data transmissions. Generally, the described techniques provide for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE), that may perform a measurement of one or more reference signals from a base station. The UE may transmit to the base station an indication of a beam preference for communicating with the base station based on the measurement of the one or more reference signals. The UE may receive, based on the indication of the beam preference, downlink control information from the base station, the downlink control information including an indication of a beam for a data transmission. The UE may perform or receive the data transmission using the indicated beam.

A UE may determine whether simultaneous communications using two or more antenna panels is supported. The UE may determine that simultaneous communications using two or more antenna panels is supported based on a predetermined rule that indicates such simultaneous communications are supported or unsupported. Whether simultaneous communications on multiple panels is supported may be dependent upon a capability of the UE. The UE may transmit panel-specific capabilities to the base station, that may be used by the base station for subsequent communications between the UE and the base station.
