Abstract:
A furniture member having a powered gliding motion includes a frame having a plurality of upright posts. Individual ones of a plurality of links are individually rotatably connected to individual ones of the upright posts. An actuation mechanism is suspended from the upright posts at rotatably connected free ends of each of the links to permit forward and rearward gliding motions of the actuation mechanism. The actuation mechanism includes a leg rest assembly movable between a fully retracted and a fully extended position. A powered glider drive assembly selectively connected to both the frame and the actuation mechanism successively moves the actuation mechanism in the forward gliding motion and the rearward gliding motion independent of the position of the leg rest assembly.
Abstract:
The invention relates to improvements in the object of patent P200603269 for “Automatic rotation system for tilting seats of chairs or armchairs”, comprising rotation supports formed by two parts (1 and 2) which are rotating in relation to one another, between which there is incorporated a rotating draw-spring (4), one of the parts (2) of each rotating support determining an annular channel (5), in which there is housed a ring (6) together with a high-viscosity silicone filler, such that said ring (6) is linked by pulling with the other part (1) of the rotating support, a braking action occurring on the rotation movement between the two parts (1 and 2) due to the friction of that ring (6) with the silicone in the channel (5).
Abstract:
Mechanism for regulating the preload of at least a stiffening spring (3) for a revolving element (2) with respect to at least a support frame (1) of a seating device, of the type comprising a mobile striker (7) for one end of said at least one spring (3), connected to said revolving element (2), and a regulating cursor (6, 10), onto which the other end of said at least one spring (3) rests, said regulating cursor (6, 10) being conceived to slide along a rod-shaped guide element (4), characterised in that said rod-shaped guide element (4) is connected, at one end thereof, in a sliding manner, to said mobile striker (7), and it is also integrally fixed to said support frame (1).
Abstract:
A seating is provided that is adapted for imparting at least partial body support to a user in multiple positions. The seating apparatus has a support structure holding a body supporting assembly that comprises one member defining a seating surface and another member that can be configured to form an auxiliary body support surface essentially parallel to and at a different level than the seating surface. Said different level preferably includes at least one level that is below that of the seating surface.
Abstract:
A seat having a plurality of defined zones for supporting the human anatomy. The zoned seating can also include one or more recoil shields that can be one piece, multiple pieces, or can itself comprise multiple sections that correspond with the multiple zones or individual zones. The seating can also include inserts to assist in supporting or isolating certain desired portions of the human anatomy. The seating includes both seat back structures and seat pan structures, with each including a zoned configuration designed to support and stabilize specific structures of the human anatomy in a defined manner. The zones can separate independent and defined zones that are designed to be separate and act as individual anatomical support areas that collectively support, cradle and permit the human anatomy to be supported in a comfortable manner. It is preferred that the zones act and operate independently from one another. However, the zones could be arranged, for example, by size, design, formation, or the shape of construction, to interact with adjacent zones. The seat can also be formed around and/or from a molded, contoured member that itself replicates a surface taken from a multi-zoned surface which has been adjusted to fit an individual.
Abstract:
Work chair, comprising a seat, supported in a height-adjustable manner by a column on a foot, and an adjustable backrest, the seat, at least in part, having a substantially horizontal position, and the backrest promoting an upright position of the users back, characterized in that the column (3) is composed of three parts (4, 5, 6) and as a result provides a two-stage adjustability for the seat height, in that the seat is divided into two parts (7, 8), in such a manner that a rear section (7) is fixed and always retains the substantially horizontal position, while a front section (8) is hinged with respect to the rear section, and in that the front section (8) is secured to the column (3) in a hinged manner (11) by a rod (9) secured to it in a hinged manner (10). The chair can be dimensioned in such a way that it allows an ergonomic working position to be adopted by virtually all users, irrespective of their corporal size, with the possibility of increasing the size of the workstation.
Abstract:
A seat apparatus provides a pair of separate seat units which is conveniently adjustable to fit according to the user's body shape. The device is comprised of: a pair of seats that can move in the opposite directions; a pair of moving plates attached under the seats that enables the movement of the seats; a base supporting the moving plates for the movement in the opposite directions; a shaft on the upper side of the base that is attached to rotate; a cylindrical shaped gap controller attached in the middle of the shaft with a pair of guidance grooves that have one narrow end and the other wide end; a motoring device attached on one end of the shaft to rotate the shaft; a pair of connectors with the one ends assembled on the guidance grooves on the gap controller and the other ends fixed on the moving plates at the corresponding positions to the guidance grooves of the gap controller; and a guiding mechanism to direct the movement of the moving plates on the base in the direction of the shaft.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a dynamic chair having a deterministic motion path that allows a variety to different paths to be selected depending of needs of user. By changing the ratio between drive wheels that control the pitch and roll of the seat, motion paths can be selected to help a person assume and/or avoid certain postures while seated. Embodiments of the present invention move the seat of the dynamic chair through a deterministic path to dictate how often and when the seat is in a level position with respect to pitch and roll.
Abstract:
A reclining mechanism of a reclining seat including a seat back and a seat cushion includes a reclining lock mechanism which locks the seat back at an adjusted angular position and allows the seat back to be rotated forward/rearward relative to the seat cushion when manually operated; a reclining angle memory mechanism which remembers an angular position of a previous adjustment of the seat back and allows the seat back to be rotated forward relative to the seat cushion when manually operated independently of the reclining lock mechanism, wherein the reclining angle memory mechanism locks the seat back to the remembered angular position when the seat back is rotated rearward from the forward position; and a manual operation limiting device which prevents the reclining lock mechanism or the reclining angle memory mechanism from being operated when the other thereof is operated.
Abstract:
Smart furniture is provided that automatically adjusts to a person's preferences based on an identification of the person. A person may be equipped with an identification device, such as a radio frequency identification device. The smart furniture may include a reader for the identification device to identify a person using the piece of furniture. The smart furniture may also include storage in which settings profiles of users are stored. The smart furniture may then receive a profile that matches the person using the furniture and set adjustable features according to the profile. Settings profiles may be uploaded to or downloaded from a remote storage using a wireless communications interface, such as a wireless network interface.
