An outer face starting from the top face and terminating at a position between the top face and the seat portion is tapered in a spreading direction. In the outer face of the key top, an inward step is disposed at the position between the top face and the seat portion. The starting end of the outer face extending toward the seat portion is shifted to the inner side from the terminating end of the outer face starting from the top face of the key top.

    摘要: This low profile key switch structure provides a substantial reduction in the height or thickness of a key switch as compared to conventional and other low profile switches. Substantial height reduction in key switch structures allows the size and thickness of notebook-type personal computers and the like to be similarly reduced. One feature of this low profile key switch structure is that unlike in conventional key switch structures the membrane switch and frame structures do not over lap to cause unnecessary height in the structure. Another feature of this key switch structure is that the frames are formed to include the free motion range limiters. The frames are further formed so that they may be embedded in the reinforcing base plate in such a manner that allows the height of the key switch to be further reduced. This low profile key switch structure is also designed to eliminate unwanted key top movement that often occurs in conventional and other switches when the key top is depressed.

The elevatable key switch includes a base, a cap, an up-down mechanism, an elastic member, a movable element, and a driving element. The cap is disposed above the base. The up-down mechanism, which is disposed between the base and the cap, supports the cap to perform vertical movement relative to the base. The elastic member is disposed on the base, and the movable element is movably disposed on the elastic member. The driving element drives the movable element to make substantial horizontal movement, so that the movable element selectively moves between a first position and a second position. When the movable element is in the first position, the movable element supports the up-down mechanism in an operation configuration. When the movable element is in the second position, the movable element releases the up-down mechanism entering a contraction configuration.

    摘要: The present invention provides a keyboard switch structure that allows the height of a keyboard switch to be sufficiently minimized so as to be suitable for notebook personal computers or other portable devices. The present invention also provides a keyboard switch assembly that allows the keytop attached to the keyboard switch to be removed and replaced in a simple manner without destroying or damaging the keyboard switch. The keyboard switch is configured in a pantograph structure having cross arms that intersect each other to form an X-like structure. The upper portion of the pantograph structure is movably attached to a coupling plate on the underside of the keytop and the lower portion of the structure is movably attached to a base plate so as provide the keytop with movement in the vertical direction. The keyboard switch has two frame members that each have two cross arms that are parallel and fixed relative to each other. The first and second frame members intersect and engage each other so as to allow at least partial rotational movement about an intersection point lower than the center of each cross arm and in such a manner as to minimize the height of the keyboard switch.

    摘要: A keyboard pushbutton includes a stationary base forming an upward-extending silo having a rectangular cross section having four corners. Two wedge blocks are formed on an inside surface of the silo and are opposite to each other. A movable cap forms a depending guide post movably received in the silo whereby the cap is movable with respect to the base between a released position and a depressed position. The guide post forms two panels each defining two slits for making the panel resiliently deflectable. Each panel forms a slot defined between two ribs for movably receiving the corresponding wedge block. The ribs converge toward each other at a free end of the panel and the converging configuration of the ribs is complementary to the shape of the wedge block for effectively preventing the cap from separating from the base and slowing down the moving speed of the cap when the cap is forcibly returned back from the depressed position to the released position so as to reduce the noise caused thereby. Each wedge block forms a camming surface and the corresponding ribs form inclined lower ends cooperating with the camming surface for guiding the wedge block into the slot between the ribs. The guide post forms flanges coextensive therewith, each flange having a rounded free edge in physical engagement with the corresponding corner of the silo for guiding smooth movement of the guide post with respect to the silo.

    摘要: In accordance with the present invention, a low-noise key switch for computer appliances is disclosed. An embodiment of the key switch includes a cap, at least one elastic element, a supporter, a switch, and a base. The cap has a top surface, a bottom surface, and a bottom edge surface. The elastic element is disposed on the bottom edge surface. The supporter supports the cap to perform a movement relative to the base. The switch, responsive to the movement of the cap, selectively turns on. When the cap moves toward the base, the elastic element approaches the base prior to the cap hits the base. Therefore, the impact of the cap toward the base is absorbed by the elastic element leading to the reduction of noise when the key switch is activated.

The curved portions of the elastic body are deformed at a position lower than an upper surface of the substrate. Therefore, the overall height of the key switch can be reduced, allowing for the manufacture of a slimmer keyboard unit.
