Abstract: An exercise device of the type including a frame with a first crank assembly rotatably coupled to the frame about a first axis and a second crank assembly rotatably coupled to the frame about a second axis. A control system may be used in communication with the first crank assembly and the second crank assembly, which may provide a synchronous movement of the first crank assembly relative to the second crank assembly. A pedal arm may be provided with a first end pivotally coupled to the first crank assembly and a pedal positioned on a second end. A crank link may be used with one end coupled to the second crank assembly and a second end coupled to the pedal arm. The crank link may be movable on the pedal arm which may provide varying paths of motion of the pedals.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an indoor exercise bicycle capable of implementing an uphill mode and a downhill mode through a simple structure. An indoor exercise bicycle having uphill and downhill mode functions according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a brake unit that controls a pressing force applied to the circumferential surface of one side of a wheel, by means of forward movement of a brake mounting connected to a lead screw rotating through a motor; and a gear unit that is meshed with the brake unit of the lead screw while being spaced apart therefrom by a predetermined distance, and controls speed with respect to the rotational force of the wheel according to the rotation of the lead screw, wherein the brake unit may be operated in an uphill mode, and the gear unit may be operated in the downhill mode.

Abstract: A method for displaying archived exercise classes comprising displaying information about archived exercise classes that can be accessed by a first user via a computer network on a display screen at a first location, wherein the first user can select among a plurality of archived classes, outputting digital video and audio content comprising the selected archived class, detecting a performance parameter for the first user at a particular point in the selected class, displaying the performance parameter on the display screen, and displaying performance parameters from a second user at a second location on the display screen such that at least one of the performance parameters from the first user and at least one of the performance parameters from the second user at the same point in the class are presented for comparison.

Abstract: An electromechanical device for rehabilitation includes pedals coupled to radially-adjustable couplings, an electric motor coupled to the pedals via the radially-adjustable couplings, and a control system including a processing device operatively coupled to the electric motor. The processing device configured to, responsive to a first trigger condition occurring, control the electric motor to operate in a passive mode by independently driving the radially-adjustable couplings rotationally coupled to the pedals. The processing device also configured to, responsive to a second trigger condition occurring, control the electric motor to operate in an active-assisted mode by measuring revolutions per minute of the radially-adjustable couplings, and cause the electric motor to drive the radially-adjustable couplings when the measured revolutions per minute satisfy a threshold condition, and responsive to a third trigger condition occurring, control the electric motor to operate in a resistive mode by providing resistance to rotation of the radially-adjustable couplings.

Abstract: A rehabilitation assistant system for patients with cognitive impairments, including an audio stimulation unit, an acupoint stimulation unit, a phototherapeutic unit, an electronic stimulation unit, a display and optical frequency-flashed stimulation unit and a control unit. The audio stimulation unit broadcast a binaural beats with frequency following response, and the acupoint stimulation unit includes several acupoint agents to output physical stimulation to a user. The phototherapeutic unit includes two near-infrared light groups, and the electronic stimulation unit includes two electrical stimulation agents to output physical stimulation to the user. The display and optical frequency-flashed stimulation unit is switchable between a display mode and an optical frequency-flashed stimulation mode, and the control unit simultaneously controls the audio stimulation unit to broadcast the binaural beats with frequency following response so as to improve the rehabilitation efficiency in patients with cognitive impairment.

Abstract: An exercise machine is for performing a striding exercise motion. The first and second pedal members are pivotably coupled to the first and second rocker arms and move with the first and second rocker arms relative to the frame. An adjustment device pivotably couples the first and second rocker arms to the frame. The adjustment device is configured to actively adjust and set a position of the first and second rocker arms relative to the frame, respectively, which thereby changes an incline shape of the elliptical paths, respectively, during the striding exercise motion.
