A variable displacement lubricant pump for providing a pressurized lubricant for an internal combustion engine includes a shiftable control ring. The control ring comprises a plurality of pump chambers and a pressure relief valve. The plurality of pump chambers rotate through a charge zone and a discharge zone. A pump rotor comprises radially slidable vanes. The pump rotor rotates in the control ring. A pretensioning element pushes the control ring to a high pumping volume direction. A first control chamber pushes the control ring to a low pumping volume direction. A second control chamber pushes the control ring to the high pumping volume direction. A pump outlet is connected to the first control chamber. A throttle valve connects the first control chamber with the second control chamber. The pressure relief valve of the control ring connects the discharge zone to the second control chamber.

In a gear pump according to the present invention, a wall surface portion of a casing (2) includes a drive side partition surface (41) on which tooth crests (11) of a drive gear (10) slide, a driven side partition surface (42) on which tooth crests (21) of a driven gear (20) slide, a suction side inner peripheral surface (43) that connects the drive side partition surface (41) and the driven side partition surface (42) on a suction chamber (3) side, and a discharge side inner peripheral surface (44) that connects the drive side partition surface (41) and the driven side partition surface (42) on a discharge chamber (4) side. Tapered portions (60) are provided in connecting portions between the respective partition surfaces (41, 42) and the discharge side inner peripheral surface (44) to cause tooth spaces (12, 22) surrounded by the wall surface portion of the casing (2) and teeth of the gears (10, 20) positioned near the partition surface (41, 42) side of the connecting portions to communicate gradually with the discharge chamber (4) as the gears (10, 20) rotate.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a vane cell pump comprising an electrical pump unit that has a pump chamber into and out of which a fluid can flow and also a rotor with a number of vanes to compress the fluid before flowing out from the pump chamber. The vane cell pump also comprises a sound-damping mechanism into which the fluid can flow after flowing through the pump chamber and that has a sound-damping cover attached to a part of the pump chamber and defining a sound-damping volume. A preliminary sound-damping mechanism with at least one preliminary sound-damping outlet from which the fluid can flow may be arranged within the sound-damping volume, wherein the preliminary sound-damping outlet has a cross-sectional profile tapering in the direction of fluid outflow.
Abstract:
A power steering pump includes, an intake flow channel defined by a first surface; a chamber into which fluid is received; and a plate disposed between the first surface and the chamber. An opening having opposed terminal ends extends through the plate. The intake flow channel is in fluid communication with the chamber through the plate opening and is configured to direct fluid flow through the plate opening into the chamber at a location intermediate and spaced from the terminal ends. The intake flow channel is defined by a bottom surface and a sloped surface extending from the bottom surface toward the plate. The flow channel has a transition zone through which the bottom surface and the sloped surface are joined. The transition zone is located at a position along the intake flow channel at which it and one of the plate opening terminal ends are approximately superposed.
