摘要: A glass sheet is formed on a mold into a glass article having a three-dimensional shape. The mold, with the glass article thereon, is arranged within an interior space of a radiation shield such that the mold is between a leading end barrier and a trailing end barrier of the radiation shield. The mold, glass article, and radiation shield are translated through a sequence of cooling stations while maintaining the mold between the leading and trailing end barriers, wherein the leading and trailing end barriers inhibit radiation heat transfer at leading and trailing ends of the mold.

摘要: A manufacturing apparatus prevents small defects from being formed in a surface of a glass film ribbon to the extent possible when the glass film ribbon is transported toward a downstream side while curved. The apparatus includes a direction converting device for converting a traveling direction of the glass film ribbon, which is drawn downward vertically from a forming device, from a vertical direction to a horizontal direction by transporting the glass film ribbon toward a downstream side while curved in a longitudinal direction of the glass film ribbon. The direction converting device includes a curve-supporting unit for supporting the glass film ribbon curved in the longitudinal direction. The curve-supporting unit includes two lines of end portion supporting parts for supporting widthwise end regions of the glass film ribbon without supporting a widthwise central region of the glass film ribbon.

摘要: An oven and an adjustable baking system are proposed. The oven includes a signal receiving module, a baking module, a detecting module, and a feedback module. The signal receiving module is used for receiving a ready-to-send signal sent by a developing apparatus in a previous process from the oven. The ready-to-send signal conveys information of preparing for transferring a glass substrate to the oven. The detecting module is used for detecting the robot to see if the robot takes the glass substrate out of the baking module. The feedback module is used for determining if a confirmation signal is sent back to the developing apparatus according to the detecting result from the detecting module. The confirmation signal conveys information that the developing apparatus should transfer the glass substrate to the feedback module. Because the transferring speed of a glass substrate transferred by the developing apparatus can be adjusted in the oven and the adjustable baking system of the present invention, no buffers are required, reducing equipment costs. In addition, the baking time of the oven is adjusted, which increases efficiency of baking

摘要: A glass sheet guidance system includes a guidance member (22) having a small contact area with the glass sheet (12) and being taut to provide guidance to the glass sheet. In order to provide consistent guidance, even in environments where there is a large change in temperature, the guidance member is held taut by a tension member (24). The guidance member is supported by holders (10) so that, while remaining taut, the guidance member can be moved in three dimensions so as to accommodate glass sheets having different widths (1), heights (2), and thicknesses (3). Also, there is provided a method of guiding glass sheets with the guidance system.

摘要: A reinforcing underlayment including dry uniform particles evenly applied to a wet bonding material layer on a surface of a substrate. The substrate, including the layers, is then cured to harden the one or more of the layers. A final coating or topcoat is applied to the cured surface of the substrate. The dry particles are evenly distributed onto the bonding material layer creating a uniform surface for subsequent coatings. The dry particles increase the strength of the liquid coatings increasing solid particle density within the coating system and thereby imparting properties not available for the liquid coatings. The present invention enables a user to easily introduce very heavy, dense, strong particles into a liquid coating and allows the user to apply very dense, heavy particles into and onto a wet bonding material layer followed by a subsequent wet topcoat layer which is cured as one contiguous material with reinforcement and underlayment strengthening coming from the added, dry particles.
