摘要： A tripod having support legs which automatically open and close when the tripod is placed on a support surface and removed from the support surface, respectively, and having a self-contained battery. The tripod includes a telescopic center post, a plurality of downwardly extending support legs, a plurality of coupling links pivotally attached at one end to a bottom end of the center post and pivotally attached at the other end to the support legs, and a battery positioned within a hollow center of the center post. The pivotal attachment of the coupling links to the support legs is offset towards an outer edge of the support legs to bias the support legs outwardly and facilitate the automatic opening of the support legs. The outward biasing of the coupling links and support legs allows the support legs to close to a vertical position parallel and adjacent to the center post while allowing the legs to automatically open when the tripod is placed on the support surface. The battery is contained within the center post and includes an electrical cord extending within the center post from the battery to the top of the tripod. The weight of the battery and the telescopic configuration of the center post cause the support legs to automatically close when the tripod is lifted from the support surface. A base is mounted to the bottom end of the center post and unscrews to allow access to the battery.

摘要： A highway traffic warning reflector comprises a conventional collapsible shopping bag having highly reflective outer surfaces and support means for maintaining the bag upright when opened and placed with its bottom on the ground adjacent a roadway. The support means includes a rigid rod and weight formed with an opening to receive one end of the rod, and a loop formed adjacent a corner of the bag near its upper open end. To set up the reflector, the bag is opened from its collapsed state, the weight placed in a corner at the bottom of the bag and the rod inserted through the loop and into the opening in the weight. In lieu of a separate rod, stiffening means may be incorporated in the bag structure. One or more support means may be used to maintain the reflective bag upright adjacent a roadway in fall view of oncoming vehicles against wind and turbulence caused by passing vehicles.

A plurality of vertical flutes are formed on said rear surface and a plurality of horizontal flutes are formed on said front surface. Each of these flutes have a left edge and a right edge and when the lens is viewed from the front or rear, the respective viewable intersecting left and right edges of the vertical flutes and horizontal flutes define a grid of four-sided light magnifier modules. This grid has a central core portion of light magnifier modules and a surrounding portion of light magnifier modules. Light from the L.E.D.'s positioned behind the central core portion of light magnifier modules produces a spotlight type of beam along the longitudinal axis of the light assembly. The surrounding portion of light magnifier modules produce a divergent light pattern that is greater in the horizontal plane than in the vertical plane. The light intensity in front of the central core portion of light magnifier modules is at a minimum of 30% brighter than the intensity of the light in front of the surrounding portion of light magnifier modules.
